I saw Elkie when she was with Robert Palmer in Dada, and have been a ardent fan ever since. I saw her last year in Glasgow, and she can still cut it at 74.
Sadly underrated, this lady deserves much much more fame fortune accolades appreciation than she has ever had. Has a huge fan following that follow her all around the country. Possibly the most accomplished female singer this country has ever seen. I love her and all her works. Long may she continue to entertain and please her fans.

When Elkie first started her career, it was early 60's where female singers like Dusty Springfield were very popular.Elkie was ahead of her time back then and is still a great Blues singer in my book..

Love Ellie Brooks. She has a very unique and beautiful voice and sings with great emotion.
Vastly underrated vocalist, her vibrato is the closest to Cher that I know and then she can turn on that blues gravel effortlessly, wonderful

Elkie is by far one of the UK's FINEST FEMALE! singers of all time bar none, she owns every single song she records and this song is no exception, this is a "live" performance and absolutely INCREDIBLE! saw Elkie on stage back 2003 & 2004 and she did this song and knocked it clean outta the park, like every song she did that night

Seen this lady many time and has not changed, last time was November 2013 my husband bought the tickets as soon as they came on sale, sadly he died in June but I still went but with my daughter. As the song Why was sang sat in my seat crying.

Absolutely wonderful. I love this; all her albums are simply beautiful and take me back to some special times.
Her voice is unique and brings so much feeling to everything she sings. Every bit as amazing "live" as on studio recordings...indeed,more so as she is engaging with her listeners and enveloping them in her passion and emotion.
