camera mapping is great but the time remap allows you to see change in perspective on every blade of grass and it doesn't require any image distortion
I downloaded the project files, stared at them for 20 minutes, and I still can not replicate your success.
Drew i can nit acess the project file can you send me please?
bro! do you even lift?
tell me bout it~
zach learnt after effects in 12 hours. theres an infinite amount of things to learn though. really depends on what you wanna do. you should be fine with the copyright stuff on youtube.
it does require manual work. stabalize the background plate, then track the bike plate, then attach the background plate to the null object that is tracking the bike plate. the time remap the background plate to make sure the perspective is always on point as its unlikely that the camera move would have been the exact same speed on both takes
S/O to these breakdown vids! the dubstep montages crack me up every time.
The project files? Dude... you're freakin awesome!
Ouch dude. That crash in the pond looked painful, Zach. Dedication.
Nice intro Aaron. haha.
glad to hear it. think ill be sharing from now on
oh man that's an awesome feature, so glad it's now included, Thank you

In CS6 you can now use what's called a warp stabilizer. Basically any shaky footage you have ( that at leasts keep the subject on frame for the majority of the shot) it will warp the video to make it look smooth. It has two kinds of stabilization (that I find the most useful and most effective) subspace warp and postion, scale, rotation.
Hahahah taking one for the film Zach. Goodjob with the video
"sketchily" i like it..
hahaha
awesome work!
Of course! Tracking one footage and stabilizing the other! Why did I not think of that? Thanks a lot for the extensive answer! Then I'll gladly do the retiming manually.
I love how you actually replying to comments! :)
yay finally been waiting here for hours
Awesome stuff guys! Creative and fun to watch! :>
that;s a cool idea
you can check out the project files I used a similar technique in the youtube police video where were on the boat with lonely island
its better to use mocha to stabalize beacause you can select the region that you want to stabalize around
yup
you guys do amazing work
You guys are awesome!!! Spectacular work!!!
Awesome stuff. Thanks for taking the time to break it down for us.
Awesome! Final cut king and VFX bro are the best!!!
i see ,love your VFX Video so much !
Thank u so much 4 project files!
good job vfx bro keep going all the way
Thanks for making another great tutorial that's entertaining and educational! You guys rock!!
Awesome! This looks amazing as always!
Could you elaborate a little on "matching the shots together using motion tracking and time remapping"? I am (maybe) planning to do a shot with a moving camera and a clean plate and am currently a little stuck on how I would match this up. Sure, I could try doing it manually, but the words "motion tracking" had me hoping that there may be a semi-automated process?
you can try googling stuff but its hard to say without know what king of hardware your running or what your project looks like.
where do you guys live?
Totally love your work. I watch all of your videos =)
Will you be doing a proper tutorial on how to do it ??
thx for the behind the scene bro
yes
That was awesome!! What camera did you guys use for this video?
Keep up the good work!
Aaron, really interested in that first crane shot matching the two. Any tutorial or detail on that mocha process and matching/time remapping the two shots? That's awesome.
la mirada... nailed it
ill think about it
wow that's insane! Great job (: cool video!
you are very welcome
look into the project file and you should be able to see exactley how it was done
ill consider it
hey dude this is awesooooooooooome
Aaron you should really consider making FAQ video one of these days it well help your subscribers to get to know you!! Just throwing that out there...:)
you still need back plates and there a lot of green in the background
great video guys... you guys are very talented and would love to work with you guys sometime. just had a film air on Lifetime but we are always doing shorts and would love to have you guys involved... where you guys located?
8 years. online and through experience
This is realllly awesome!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
You guys should do videos where people get to know you better and what items you use for vids, ur age, why u like film making, and other stuff that would be cool
My fav childhood channel❤
it depends if its a moving shot or not
For the Hill Shot Composition...the bottom layer, the hill.mov, is that 1 shot? the same camera shot as Zach going down the hill, did u painted him out? I'm not sure how u did that, I would really love and im sure others would love a tutorial on the specific technique, i think u painted him out, but i don't know how to animate the paint.
which ones?
what would i put on there?
what camera/equipment you use? What programs do you use? what school you went to and what you majored in? When did you start making videos and why? How old are you? Why do like visual effects? Who is your favorite youtuber?
I am pretty sure there are many other questions you are asked reapetedly add those too!!
you can download the project files to see how I do it :)
When I saw Let's hang out the first thing I remembered was G+. XD
I came here because of TH-cam sharing the Speeder Bike clip on Google+. :p
wow...u guy are amazing!!
wow good work!
they have some on mochas website
Could you explain how you created clean plates for bike in motion along the road using mocha..thanks man..keep up the good work
That and I also film weddings and do freelance VFX work for a productions company in LA.
thevfxbro can you send me the project file please because i cant acess using this link
Hey, did you go to school for film and special effects? If so, how long, which school and why did you choose this career? How much does your computer cost that you use for editing?
i also love your videos!
Why didn't they use a ramp for the pond scene?!?
It would've made for a more smooth transition from "land" to "sea". With the editing going on, I have to believe a small ramp would've been easy to cut out?
Still it's awesome you guys are showing the behind the scenes footage of how you did the vid. Hope you guys get a spot on TruTV. I'm tired of watching that jerk from Detroit hock his stuff from a pawn shop!
What's the name of the show.. Pawn King? Star Pawn? Hardboiled Pawn? ehh who knows!
Crazy stunt at the end!
randomly happened to be there haha
Have used the 650D for a while and got nothing bad to say about it so far. But I'm gonna make my first movie with it on Saturday and can fully test it out there.
thanks brodda
its definately a challange to match.
8 years
you can motion track in mocha
it definatley should. I use cs6
I Thumbs up for the arrested development/peanuts walk of shame :D
Masking the tires away in depth
do you guys ever offer internships for filmmakers like myself?
just wondering. loved this idea btw!
auto trader magazine when i was 11. but my mom made me pay after. not tryna get marreid for at least 5 years but ill keep u posted
I am just wondering how you matched these 2 camera shots...
amazing!!!
that sound effect when zack is pushing the bike :3
that was hillarious how Zach went flying =) when u paint out the tires frame by frame, how do u make it so the paint doesn't stay in that same place for the rest of the frames after it...when i paint frames, the paint stays for the next frames, it doesn't disappear when i go to the next frame, so i can repaint that next frame. i hope im being clear...do u know what i mean? u must have to check something off in order it to work properly
adjustment layer > exposure
How long have you been learning about vfx?
Very cool!
no learnt it all online and through experience. you can see my gear on vfxbro dot com
its called bad habits by dot exe

i use final cut pro 7
