You could motion track your hand and point the null object with the keyed cup.

Hey Zach Nice tutorial ! But i think you can do this better and more realistic if you add some realistic camera shake to the final project and you can use rotobrush to your hand when the cup falls .
But thats the smaller things, so thank you for awesome tutorials !

It doesn't matter if you have a macbook pro, the important thing is to have lots of ram and a big hard drive, close any other apps running on the background and you will notice a big difference.

it didnt seem like an issue here but if you add a simple choker to the keylight layer it will help in bad keying situations
why do you still in os x lion? (just look the taskbar with no notif center)
Monofilament fishing line is clear enough that it hides well, and you can skip the cup masking step in the beginning.

just use a blue rope in front of the blue screen, key out the blue, move the cup along with your hand (and move it for the falling part), split the layer of the cup just as the cup starts to fall, add motion blur to the falling layer, add sound effects, and you're done!

Nice video Thank you. But I'm curious as to why you chose to use a manual mask to mask out the cup behind the fingers, when the Roto brush would have done a quicker and better job?

ha, you are right. Actually, i just checked and i still have some x's on my body.
good vid, I commented on another vid bad but then it got applied to this one, not sure why but I think its because if its on autoplay and another vid comes up then you comment on 2nd vid, the comment goes to 1st vid, youtube has a major problem not the first time, but this vid was good I removed the bad comment and gave good thumbs up
if you're filming with a low shutter speed then AE will have problems removing the blur. The way that zach showed works in all situations
use the rig remover plugin, it removes the rigs , no blue screen needed and easy to use

JLun Productions there is a plugin called rig remover, it does the job quikly and easy. Just click on the plugin and 2 point will show up ,put them on the wire u want to hide thats it
