Good to know. And good to see an old guy like me on one. I’m 67. I used to race in the 70s, and I can’t believe the difference in this and the Harley XR 750! It makes me wanna go back to racing. At least I’d die in style. This is a ROCKET SHIP! I test rode one. On the street, I felt like I was gonna go over the front of it, especially when I hit those powerful brakes. With that horsepower and torque, it needs those brakes. I’m riding mostly a Triumph Tiger 800 XRx. And this has a lot more power. I’m debating on it. What to do, what to do? Oh, I never saw this guy ride it in the dirt. What’s up with that?
What the hell, this guy showed more interesting little details then I have found in two years of watching reviews on this bike. Great job! Did you ever find out what the deal was with that little allen wrench???
Wow hey Joe I remember you from the moto mag days I grew up reading your stories and I must say they were always a good read with a good laugh to be sure . I look forward to checking out your content cheers old boy
Wow what a lot of great detail! Both in the bike and in your video! Appreciate it. Strong likelihood I get this bike. I really like the CCM Spitfire scrambler and the Norton Atlas Ranger but those aren’t available in the U.S. An Indian 50 dirt bike was my first motorcycle when I was 4 so there is some nostalgia value, too.
I like this bike also big guy....I like it that I'm stuck up here in NOrthern Ontario Canada where our climate and roads are half arsed and we have a slew of gravel/chip tar roads so this is more a necessity to have. I'd love to have a big bagger Indian but this makes much more sense for me! Thanks for your awesome review!
They do sell an optional High License Plate Mount: www.indianmotorcycle.com/en-us/shop/accessories/ftr-1200-accessories/2884060/ That "muffler chamber" is a catalytic converter.
I have been seeing these bikes for sale $1,500 off from what your dealer quoted.. The S Model has adjustable front and rear suspension rebound and compression Damping.. The Mid model had a cable throttle I thought suprised the Rally model is drive by wire. Looks like you are in FL ?
I agree, the pannier or case options are limiting in terms of practicality. Also the small fuel tank is limiting. Was really excited when I first saw this bike. But fuel tank and storage make it a no go. Wish it were practical as well as fun. A proper wind screen would be good too. I want a fun bike I can also tour on!
They coming out with carbon fiber version looks killer with all the bikes on the market it takes awhile to narrow them down to 1 or 2 or 3 oh I almost forgot hell of tutorial of the bike
Hey Joe , look at after market for your rear fender removal to under seat mount . You can relocate your plate and lights under seat BUT check with local authorities on how to mount it because some laws per state are required to have a light on plate at night and some riders don’t bother to do that so they run for it. ( would like you to be chased , get caught and watch all the expressions of cops would be priceless!!! .... create a biker club called “old farts outlaws “ with gramps and grandmas !!! Most cops won’t bother you until you break any of your laws then they can pop you for lack of light in back , if cops can’t get you one way they’ll get you the other way.
I love my FTR. That license plate holder I think looks awesome! I am disappointed with the 2022 model. If they were going to make that many changes they should have given the Rally model an option to have a TFT display with ride modes. Then I would have bought a 2022 Rally with a TFT instead of buying a used S Race Replica model.
Really well put together video, nice to see the whole bike for a change and not just the shinny bits..
Thank you for one of the most detail oriented reviews I've seen 🤘🙏 Subscribed 🤘
OMG i found the most awesome guy in TH-cam.. Having love for Motorcycles in his 60's damn.. i love this grandpa..

Hands down the best review I've seen on an FTR. I'll be looking for the feasibility of skid plates/pans

Awesome ride report!! Looks like a blast to ride. For now I’m still riding my ‘02 ZRX1200. But that Triumph is talking to me!
Glad I found this..great walkaround and review
Can this be a good first “big bike” for a tall guy?
That allen key 5:32 is to open the battery box
Sorry S is for the side stand being down.

there is always a way to shut the abs off!! Pull the fuse out or damage the pickup; without causing a fault. Regards unsafe rider 102.
Lol when explaining going through sand lol. Great way of explaining the bike to us the viewer. Wondering what the ,,S,, and Allen wrench was?.

More detail review of ftr1200, put some genuine mud guard on it, should be nice
How'd I just hear about this bike? I think I'm in love.
How were the ergonomics for your size, Joe?
Perfect. a little tall in the seat but that doesn't bother me

I was afraid this engine cycle might be a little tall for me. But I'll brave it.
ProudNavyDad SWO get some boots with some thick soles. Gives you an inch or so 😉. I have some caterpillar boots that give me a little more footing
If it iz A Bike; then , it iz A Schwinn!
Cool take on a sweet bike.
The British Motorcycle Gear gloves made it even better...
Nice bike. I love Indian
Oh the high mount Awk Prok a vitch beautiful Russian pipes
Definitely my new fav bike… HD is totally overrated when you throw a leg over one of these
Will Review for Food **Cardboard sign optional.*** Get'em, Joe!
How much you selling it for😂
“S” stands for side stand.
Also I might point out that it is not a street bike, “FTR” stand for “flat track racer”.
That FTR is sexy time!
