@@mattdrbarnard Just a simple 1/8" to XLR adapter. They're about $10, but if you have a combo XLR/1/4" combo jack you can just use a 1/4" headphone adapter to do the same thing.
The most use for this will be DJs and live singers. Why would you not use a wired mic for recording or content creation, maybe rarely. All the reviews say it’s very noisy in operation and drop outs.
Thanks! No, in fact, I completely forgot they had anti-feedback because I've never had to use it, not even on the Thump Go! For the low price-point of that EM-89D microphone, I've been pretty impressed with it, and I even bought a second one for my karaoke setup. ~ Switch
Hey there! Yes, that was the old Filmic Pro v6 before they got bought out and switched to a god-awful subscription service, so I can't really recommend them for mobile video anymore but there's lots of alternatives out there now. As for the phone cage, it's just a little Smallrig cage I picked up from AMZ and I still use it pretty often.
I wouldn't recommend that. This system is designed to transmit a mic-level signal, and most outputs that you would use to feed signal for IEMs run at line level, so you'll need something that you can switch to line or you're gonna run into clipping issues.
Yep! We love the Xvive stuff at DJs Guru, and I even picked up their IEM system so that my MC, my drummer and I can sync better when we play on stage. Easy to recommend them. Total game changer! ~ Switch
Thanks for your question! I actually did a little more homework and found out that it has more to do with the speakers than the mic. Those speakers have excellent feedback destruction, so we've had no issues at all rehearsing with this setup. I don't have any plans to make a follow-up video, but I've actually added some 2.4Ghz IEMs to our setup as well, and there hasn't been any cross-talk issues with the Wave XLR either, and the latency on both the mic and IEM systems is so low that we're able to rehearse with a live drummer in the room without any issues! Realistically, the Mackie system does have its limitations when it comes to power and range when compared to, say, my $650 Sennheiser XSW setup, but that system is considerably more cumbersome, requires rack-mounting and dedicated AC power, none of which I have to deal with when I use the Mackie system which fits in a tiny pouch in my bag. So, while I'm not planning on selling my professional Sennheiser system, I've been getting FAR more use out of this little Mackie setup and I love that it's so portable and accessible :)
Hi Carl! The XLR / TRS combo jacks on the back of the 215XT will work with any microphone or line-level input device on channel 1. Just make sure you use the switch to select "Mic" or "Line" so that you have the correct input gain, and it'll work just fine.

Nice review Switch…love the way you illustrated the different applications and use cases…
Thanks! I hate gear that only has one use, and I love when companies like Mackie make gear that embraces all our options instead of limiting them :)
Just got mine in the mail today. I cannot wait to start making videos with it. Very excited.
Thanks, I looked a long time for this video, as I need a wireless interview mic solution and this will do it! I appreciate it.

Heeeeey!!!
Thanks for review... I have a question. What model and brand are your headphones?
✌🏽
As a mobile DJ I would look at this product, for outdoor events when you completely powerless, for example with the mackie go? Outdoor weddings ect.
Totally!
How did you connect it to your decks or to your mackie go?

Thanks for the review i own xvive but these can truly be useful for camera or phone use also
Or livestream etc - both are great for diff applications. We love XVive too!

aren't those speakers engaging the "anti feedback" feature? Something i need to try myself as well! :) - lovely review dude

Is that a 3rd party video app being used. Also can you post the link for the phone cage

Dude in the Adidas sweater sounds like Ray Liotta 😂
Can I insert the transmitter onto the mixer’s output use it as a wireless in ear system?
I wouldn't recommend that. This system is designed to transmit a mic-level signal, and most outputs that you would use to feed signal for IEMs run at line level, so you'll need something that you can switch to line or you're gonna run into clipping issues.
Xvive makes a similar version of this for IEM’s.

Can they transmit line level?
dude how is that possible that there's no feedback pointed at monitors? how bad is the latency anyways?
Because it’s 2.4ghz not uhf frequency :-) - very little to no latency.

Hey Carl, yes this device will work with any XLR mic that does not require phantom power.
Funny my unit is garbage the noise from this deal makes audio un- usable. Don’t waste your money. There is a reason its $100 off!
