What happens if only mitotic divisions occur in human life completely with out any meiotic divisions...
Give me a reason mam??

If only Mitosis happens,then gametes formed will be diploid and zygote formed after fertilization will be quadraploid like in human it means egg and sperm will have 46 chromosomes each and zygote thereby 92 chromosomes...
So definitely the new generation will not be human as chromosome number becomes different..
That's why we have learnt that meiosis is essential to maintain the chromosome number retained in the species in sexually reproducing organisms... hope this helps you
