actually, BBD said 50 million sold, but their own website said 20 millions at that time. PTX is 12 millions, but they have both certifications on albums to around 4-5 millions.
Someone who works on the show actually revealed a few weeks ago that BBD literally tried to throw jokes in about sexually assaulting Kirstin and had to be forced to change them before practice. So....absolute trash.
@@pjschmid2251 That's so true. Your comment made me laugh out loud. Avi did leave at the end of their regular 2017 touring schedule, and Matt was hired to help with the 2017 Christmas tour and a few Christmas videos, but he didn't become a full member until 2018. The rap battle happened in Dec. 2017. So while they had already chosen Matt, it wasn't official when the rap battle happened. There are also 2 fabulous music videos with just the four members--Scott, Mitch, Kirstin, and Kevin--Dancing on My Own and Away in the Manger. They were also filmed in between the Avi and Matt eras.
Oh yeah, they made me mad with the "flat ass" comment. Even in a rap battle there are boundaries, & throwing out an insult on someone's natural body shape is over the line. 😠 Kirstie was a grown woman, not a teen anymore. Still, body shaming is not something you should be doing to anyone regardless of age, & if you do it then you might get it in return. Basically, BBDV decided to go past "roasting" to full on disrespect. Once they did that, I lost respect for them as artists. (Is that an overreaction? I don't know, but that's how I am. I expect adults to be thoughtful & act like adults. I will NEVER buy an Ariana Grande song/album. Why? Because of the donut licking incident. That entitled attitude that "I don't have to respect others/think about how my actions affect them. They're strangers.") I knew PTX would not hold back on their insults after Kirstie was dissed like that, because they aren't just a group that became good friends after working together. Officially PTX didn't have as many years of success as BBDV, but The Trio have literally been very close not just as friends but performing music together since childhood, & they really love each other. So while Kevin & Avi were newer, the core of the group have a lot of history. Was BBDV thinking they would shake up PTX as a whole by really going after one member more than the others, like trying to break 1 chain link? Not a good idea because even without the Trio's long history, Kirstie is not a wimp! She has 🔥 in her soul. Before even watching I figured BBDV would probably win for what you mentioned plus their rep as top in their genre for so long. They have much more experience doing that together. But overall, I felt PTX is far more creative when it comes to spontaneous lyrics & they know how to use their musical knowledge of other genres & finding the essence of a song really well. They let it influence what they do to give those old hits a fresh feel. That's their REAL specialty! A lot of people don't realize that because they think that PTX is just good at taking an already good/great song & turning it into an a cappella arrangement. So I knew anyone thinking PTX didn't have a chance didn't really know about them. To me no matter the genre, even when it's a rap battle, the lyrics are more important. Whether what they say is even true (if not then it doesn't count) or if they're just making up general insults to me makes a lot of difference in a rap battle. If it was me, I would've declared PTX the winner. I understand most people wouldn't though, because most don't consider lyrics as heavily vs the rest of the song.
How can you hate BBD? The song’s “Do me”, “Poison” and “When Will I see you smile again” are actual classics. What does Pentatonix have in classic songs?
BBD though just used generic crap that they could use with anyone. Other than hitting on Kirstie they could have used it with any other group. So I have to give it to Pentatonix. That was very specific to BBD. Part of a battle for me is using the other group's weaknesses. Saying things that sting because they are true. Nothing BBD rapped hit home. Steal your girl not anything original.
1. 90s just wasn't soft , everyone didnt get in a uproar over everthing word and action. 2. this is a rap battle, where snything goes, so it has nothing to do with what flew in the 90s battle rap today is still anything goes. 3. bbd said nothing that was terribly bad. and if u referring to the stuff said to Kirsten , i am glad she is not soft and knows the essence of battle rap, which allowed her to respond swiftly and beautifully as she did.
Glad you enjoyed this one, Scott’s part is always my favorite! 🤣🤣💙

where?
woahhh im super late but who said that?? that is insane
This happened during the brief period after Avi left and before Matt officially joined, which is why there are only 4 members in the battle.
Either that or just simply the fact that Avi can’t rap. In an interview he was asked about that once and his answer was I can barely speak LOL

The fix was in lol. But give the old guys a gift though.
PTX won!
Did Penatonix try to flex Grammys on BBD? Three members of New Edition, one of the biggest boy bands of all time.😂😂😂🤣🤣
I don't know what used to fly in the 90s but there's a lot of uncool in BBD's raps ... PTX clearly won without stooping to that level lol
