Really cool series brother...those shots at 13:30 were amazing...drone footage is some of the best out there. And I have to say both of you guys have some amazing wives to go through it all like they did!!
Very nice closing video and including Andreas and family with their finale was a nice touch. Altogether, a Great Series. The "pros" usually just show the successes and never the fails. You show where most of us live Thanks. Where we going NEXT?
Elizabeth, it was very nice to meet you in this series. I forget which episode, but you were driving (you did a great job throughout) somewhere with a lot of sand dunes and became stuck on an uphill climb. To the left was a steep slide down several hundred feet...certain death or serious injury...it looked pretty tricky You seemed relatively calm, but deferred to Rob to extricate the rig. Tell us about that moment.
I was up there on the 4th too, and also didn't realize the president and all those people would be there. We found a pretty decent spot off 385 north of Custer on the 3rd. We ended up going west instead of east on the 4th to escape the crowd, found some great spots around 44.44825,-104.4162 if you're ever closer to devils tower and looking for a view and a quiet camp spot.
Idaho has a vast array of back country roads. When you come back, consider the Magruder Corridor. It is the only road in over 3 million acres of designated wilderness. It is long, high and wild. You would definitely want to do it a little later in the season than your trip this year. Thanks for another good video.
although i have not tried this myself and not sure if that would be something to try with the second vehicle pulling a trailer, have a strap connected to the 2 vehicles. When first vehicle gets stuck, the other can pull 1st back and you can then re-try. Also firs vehicle can assist the second in case. If you at some point really get stuck, you can then use the winch to pull you forward. I have seen this done by the epic road trip family and i thought that was a smart thing to do! Something to consider...
Thanks for have bringing us with you in your adventure. You’ve been an awesome narrator an you were able to make us feel like we’ve been with you all the time. Thumbs up This is my question: Do you navigate and do your planning only by map or you still using Gaia to plan your trip? Is the best combinaison is a mix of both of them?
Just showed my wife your Alpha RTT video. She likes! Will your coupon code remain active for awhile.? Thanks and we really enjoy your videos. Much appreciated!!!!!!!
Very cool series, loved watching it. I have a questions about your Tuff Stuff hard shell tent, would you recommend it? have you had any issues with it? I'm considering this one over the IKamper and Roofnest versions one for the price and two the additional annex option. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! I definitely recommend the Tuff Stuff tent. It has been fantastic. It also has a few advantages over the iKamper - more space for bedding, thicker mattress, and removable window awnings, so you only have to put them up if it’s raining. If it’s not already on sale, RVO10 will get you 10% off.
What are some unexpected things you've seen or discovered on your adventures? Bonus Question: What would we have to do to convince you to come out to Nevada to camp IN a ghost town?
I had to stop watching when you appeared to give up when it got too difficult. I couldn’t imagine taking a trail and predicting that it might take too long to overcome, then going back. It’s never happened so far. But nice overlanders.
Elizabeth and I will be doing a Q&A video soon. Reply to this comment with any questions you have for us to answer in the video!
Awesome footage
Where exactly is this located
What do you and Elizabeth do for work?
How do you come up with travel ideas?
What’s the process you use to find the campsites? Thanks in advance!
I love how huge those paper maps are

"Weren't really prepared for temperatures this low." Not the first to say so and not the last. Valuable lesson learned, though.
We didn't have our winter coats, and definitely weren't mentally prepared for it! Thankfully we always take our winter sleeping bags, so we slept ok!
You did a fantastic video. I hope it inspires others to hit the road and see the beauty of this land we call our home. Thank you.
Thank you! I hope it inspires people too!

You got that right!
Your videos are amazing to watch. Really enjoying them!
Awesome! Thanks!
Cool series! Makes me eager to get back out that way when we can. Your video making skills have gotten really good really fast! 👍🏻👍🏻
Great video Rob! I was just in Lolo on bikes a few weeks ago. Idaho is my favorite state!
I've been following your posts. I wish we could have spent more time there!
awesome trip. thanks for sharing. Still in shock about all the snow still in july!!
You and me both!

Yeah I have a nice Bubba Rope that would have done well for that!
Another great video 👍🏼
Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome 👍 how's that ruff ruff tent holding up been waiting on an update review
It’s holding up great! I’m working on the updated review.
When is the next Kentucky overland trail through Daniel Boone National Forest
People post all the time about weekend rides through and around the DBBB!

Do you think snow chains have helped?
Where do I get those maps at 7:38?
👍. Enjoyed it.
Thanks 👍

16:56 -- where is this?
Cottonwood Canyon Rd in southern Utah
Would winter rated tires make a difference?
I'm not sure. They wouldn't be practical for the rest of the trip though! Some chains would have worked well.
...and some claim the Arctic is melting away...! Looks like it just moved a little south!
Lol!
That’s why i dont overland with a trailer lol

Would have helped a lot! Not something I’d think to pack when driving around in June, especially when I started in Arizona! I don’t even own chains 😂
