Thank you for sharing this great idea. The fabric on my Poang chair had stretched and dipped down too much. I bought the same rope that you did. I used a couple of clamps to keep a good tension and have a break when needed. Just like stringing a tennis racket. I'm very happy with the result.
That base material on my Poang gave way too. I was planning to replace it with a plastic netting but I am still contemplating the large staples...don't know where to get one and no point to buy one just for this project. This rope method is a viable alternative.
Fixed mine with three velcro webbing straps back to front looped around the frame. Might need one strap looped side to side. The irony is that the straps used are the ikea mattress carry straps 😃 Thank you for the demo on how best to remove the staples and the old canvas seating support. 20+ years mine was well past repair and ripped.
Nice video ... not sure why the last knot had to be filmed at 50x the speed of the first one, but I figured it out eventually...hopefully. Also, "brute strength". LOL, right... guess I need to hit the weight room.

How much should the fabric dip down naturally?
@@colonelsanders4006 I don’t think it should stretch much at all. This only happened to one chair which might have had a fault.

Worked a treat! Thanks so much for the idea.

Thanks for this. Mine just ripped off
On my case the chair was in a place that got a ton of heat and i guess the plastic just got weak….
Ithought you ver just going to tighten the fabric and restaple
How did it got cut the first place? I'm considering buying one and I'm afraid it might get broken , what's your weight man?!
Mine has lasted for more than 20 years before the lower seat gave way. Thanks for this video.
More likely to sag with age like mine but it is quite old.
Mine has lasted 20+ years. I took a freebie to upcycle and was thinking of trying to replace fabric via sewing machine - but this looks WAY easier ❤😂
