    I'm willing to bet the First Buck seen your shadow move. It's not on cam but he looked straight ahead and then turned and locked on you. Shadows bust more hunts then people realize. Great content as usual. 😎

      Very possible. I have had that happen before on another hunt. Thats one side effect to haveing the sun at your back, a trade off to staring at the sun I guess.

      You may be right that’s the thing about hunting bucks. The slightest move can get you busted. He may have winded me also it’s hard to say but it’s hunting and let’s face it them deer are a lot more smarter than we are. Thanks for watching.

    Man that's tough, I think many of us can all relate to this happening. I know we can. Thanks for the realism of the channel, love the footage. Gets me fired up for the 2024 season since our 2023 season was pretty tough. We found a spot to hunt next year in Ohio, so looking forward to our first ever Ohio hunt! I will be sure to subscribe to keep up on your content! Good luck the rest of the way.

      Thanks. It can get over whelming at times, but you are correct. 20 plus years of hunting it, I have located some dynamite spots to hunt.

      Hidden? Maybe 20 years ago, but far from it at this point. First week of November everyone and their brother comes from out of state to hunt it haha

    • @buckeyeoutdoorstv-shane3504

      @ghghamrick It just depends where a person hunts at, I have hunted some spots for 20 years that I never run across another hunter and some spots I quit hunting because of the hunting pressure. Hunters just have to spend time figuring it out. I have bowhunted, gun hunted, and turkey hunted the same area on Wayne National for many years to somewhat have a grasp on what most guys are looking for. I hunt where they won't or off the beaten path type places. Now gun week.....the first 2 days are crazy, after Tuesday, I dont see many people other than the guys in my camp.

      Thank you. It's definitely a challenge. We watched the film over and over while zoomed in as best we could, and slowed it down to a snails pace. The shot deflected off the branch and just grazed off the front of the front shoulder. Tracking it the next day confirmed our opinion of the shot.

    Hope you’re in a section ATV’s are legal. Seems they’re everywhere, even in areas they’re not supposed to be on the national forest. More so from neighboring private land owners it seems in my experience. Definitely seems to be a good area that you’re in.

    • @buckeyeoutdoorstv-shane3504

      I am definitely in an atv legal area. And you are correct about the illegal atv riding. We've quit hunting some areas because you can walk back a mile and run across guys riding atvs and trucks even though they are not supposed to. Kinda sucks to walk that far and set up only to have it ruined.
      Also, its absolutely unbelievable how many comments we've gotten saying we are breaking the law in this video by having an atv. I guess a lot of people have no clue. I started to reply with a link to WNF web page, but since have been deleted. Thanks for watching and I hope you had a great deer season!!

      @@buckeyeoutdoorstv-shane3504 glad to hear it. They don’t bother me in legal areas, but definitely ruins a day to hear one in areas they’re not. Hope it keeps working out for you!

      @@ghghamrick Not to leave out some of the dirt bikers, in the area im in, they ride EVERYWHERE AND ANYWHERE the want to. Some of the places they ride is crazy as hell. I quit hunting some spots in the legal areas for that reason. I ride the trails, they make their own.

    • @robertwhite3752

      Yeah, and it’s sadly gotten way out of hand imho. All I hunt is public and mostly Wayne, and there’s a lot of people who are breaking the law and ruining a lot of hunts with the ATV’s, it’s going on everywhere pretty much. Got a good collection of public hunters though and we’re all starting to film. Got a lot of footage so far just in a couple weeks of people who just don’t care about the law. Seems the ODNR is really slacking in many areas. They’re gonna have no choice but to act now because folks are fed up with it and there’s much that’s going to be placed dead on their laps here in another week or so.

    • @ghghamrick

      @@robertwhite3752 glad to hear it. The ATV’s and baiting is pretty ridiculous. Almost every chunk I went into this year had ATV paths where they should be or bait piles. Reported one bait pile and even gave a picture of the guy to the federal agent of the area. Said there wasn’t much they could do without a name or a license plate.

      How high do you hunt? It didn't look too high and I hunt low to the ground in Ohio as well and have good success.

    • @buckeyeoutdoorstv-shane3504

      @keithking9388 18ft but it doesn't look high because of the ridge behind me. That's the thing with hunting in the hills of SE Ohio, you can be 20 ft up and eye level with deer 30 yds behind you.

    • @buckeyeoutdoorstv-shane3504

      @keithking9388 15ft off the ground, when hunting the hills of SE Ohio, going high only puts you eye level within 40yds when hunting benches, like in this hunt. The ridge behind me makes it look like I'm not very high up in the tree.
