I think when people think the 60's they are thinking more about the all the social movements going on when it seemed popular to dissent, but a lot of that was just hippie bandwagoning and uniting against the draft.
I have had this argument with people and I would not want to go back to any other time. Maybe 60's for all the 'free love,' but we still kinda have that. I mean, go back to pre internet? Really?? Why?? And btw, music wasn't just better in the past. There has always been good music and shitty music. Today there is still good music and shitty music. Alex NoSleeves Society is getting better. We don't kill off as much% of our own species as we used to. More people are starting to believe in science, so technology is getting more interesting. Of course there's still crazies, but it takes time to convince some people to chill out and just learn stuff.

5 years later look what the U.S. has degenerated to. Hairy grown men saying they’re women and kicking real women’s asses in sports plus if you don’t go along with it you’re harassed.
Do as you please has morphed into do as I say, people aren’t judged by their character now. We’re judged by what “group” we belong to, with people being split into smaller and smaller groups vying for who is supreme victim.
It was better “back in the day”, when at least most here were proud Americans and we had that in common as a baseline. Now we have full blown pinkos clubbing random people in the street while the cops watch.
Every previous generation thinks there so god damn better then one after the truth is we all kind of suck if todays technology and ideas were tomorrows people back then would be the same way.When we say it was better back then it just a feeling of nostalgia with music,tv,vido games,or certain experiences.The old days were just as crap as today if not worse.
This is only in the States which was and still is a shit place to live in. Other places had much more decency and were genuinely better off than they are now. Unfortunately, with America spreading all of its "democracy", it managed to ruin most of those places.
