For real, more than likely she was jealous of her sister and her jealousy carried onto her niece (op). I have no respect nor sympathy for people like her because they choose to stir in their jealousy and harm others when they could talk to someone and get help to resolve their issues.
I’m guessing the jealousy stems from her childhood. Being jealous of her brother/ sister, whichever sibling was hers before their death. Something must have clicked or she did something to remind her of it. It’s cruel, she was a child just trying to live and grow up. Shame on those people and anyone else who thinks this behavior is ok.
Typical that the aunt didn't show her face when op left for NYU. She couldn't stand that her husband put a stop to her trying to ruin op out of her psycho jealousy. Not surprised that her brat also just stared at op from inside the house and didn't do anything because she's just as bad as her psycho mother. I wouldn't be surprised if Patricia cooked the books to get back at her husband for supporting op and not her in ruining op's life.

I am not saying it will be easy or happen quickly. But take it from me, it will happen eventually. It might take decades... Forgetting takes time...
