I don't think I have ever seen Zach talk so seriously for so long during an interview. Usually seems like he can't help but make jokes at least every 30 seconds or so. It's cool to see this side of him. Good work Sam!

I love LOVE to watch comedians talk about times when they bombed. It takes so much for you to get up there again and try once more, heal yourself and keep going. Sometimes I erase my own tweets after 20 minutes 'cause I'm afraid people mightn't have liked it. Can't imagine the shame it'd be to be in a room full of people reading something I wrote and realising it all fell flat, or worse, seeing it on the face of an audience right in front of me. Major respect.

Zach _really_ found the sweet-spot for his skill-set with "Between Two Ferns". The movie stuff for a lot of comic creators is pretty disposable, but when they can get in their wheel-house like that with the loosely scripted improv, it's timeless and can live for decades on TH-cam. I'd liken it to David's Spade best was "Hollywood Minute" where he roasted celebs with his smarmy, dry delivery.

He's such a down to earth guy on top of being very intelligent, insightful and charming.
Not to mention, handsome (yes, also when he was chubbier - he just has a very plesant face to look at)

I love Zach, but whenever I hear a celebrity talk about learning from failure I always have that voice in my head that says, "But 99% of actors/musicians/etc. fail and keep failing, and their career goes nowhere. What would you say to them?"

Jim Carrey didn't even make it. He has done some of the funniest stuff on there as a host. He even improved the Night at the Roxberry skit.

Whatever happened here to give Zach the space and time to describe with wisdom the process of trying and failing, to both share personal experience, and to offer upcomings advice -- that's just not the Zach I've ever seen before... and I'm moved and a new fan.

Zach's 3 second excerpt from his 1700's stand up routine was funnier than anything I've seen from SNL in a long time.

what a shame, just the premise of the britney belly button bodyguard sketch sounded funnier than 50% of the snl sketches in general. somehow physical comedy can manifest itself at a table read... why not test a read physically? i can imagine sketches that could have been saved on the fly.

Can we just thank Sam real quick for being an amazing host and interviewer? The things people say on this show are a rarity, and it’s because of Sam’s vibe.
