Nice! Always interesting to see the different highways around the US of A! the Atlanta area sure has changed since I got my Eastern Airlines map in '87! Always good to see how different the highways are in various locales. I have to admit; Atlanta's highways are impressing me!!!
For those that noticed even with sequential numbering, Exit 6 was skipped, it's actually there but blocked off at 2:55. It was built to be a "North Entrance" to Stone Mountain Park and was later discontinued. It was re-opened temporarily for special events during the 1996 Summer Olympics.
Love your videos. Another couple of miles and you'd be a stone's throw from my old house. Left Atlanta about a year ago and miss it terribly. Thanks for posting, your videos are very nicely done.
Great video, I was on the Stone Mountain Freeway around 12 years ago on a very muggy Hot-lanta day. It was great seeing it from this perspective, keep the hits a comin'
I always wish they expanded this freeway more into Gwinnett County at least up to Route 124. The traffic between the terminus and that highway is a nightmare. When I live in Atlanta, I didn't visit my friends in Snellville on certain days.
I don't know that one is necessarily easier to remember than the other but it's nice knowing the distance between given exits, I prefer mileage based exit numbering.
Funny thing, when I was at Cumberland Mall and saw Mall security, I thought about the Big Boss Man...."If you ever took a trip down to Cobb County, Georgia...." Serving some hard time....so you better not steal at Macys!
Concerning the wrestlers in the Atlanta area....they also said that Buff Bagwell was from Marietta, which to the outside world, you would think Stone Mountain, Cobb County, Marietta, Alpharetta, etc were all major metros in the state but they are cities/towns/suburban Atlanta....such a let down!
I remember back in the 80's in the WWE there used to be a wrestler named the Big Boss Man and they said he hailed from Stone Mountain GA but I never knew that there actually is a Stone Mountain in Atlanta......

Thanks, Atlanta's freeways are excellent, and I'm not being a homer :)

+Russ Goddard Thank you Russ!

Thank you, sounds like you were there on a normal day :)
You can never go wrong with an Atlanta video.
Thanks!
Thanks Jim.I always look forward to your videos.Nice song selection too!
Thanks Fred!
Nice filming US-78. Loved the video & loved the music. See you late this month with your upcoming trip to who know's where.
Thanks, I'm heading to New Hampshire among other places on the way up and back.
Who needs Central Park when you have pristine, preserved areas along with all the landscape Atlanta offers!

That's why I always called it going to SNAILVILLE
never been on that road before - enjoyed it.
Thanks!
Great video and song!
Thanks!
Love this song! Very catchy with a great guitar riff! I wonder why in hell it never got more popular and well-known?! LOL
Although "What's He Got" is a great song, it's very repetitious; and mainstream America has a very short attention span.
lakebay972 True, but at least it's relatively short.
I guess it was somewhat of a hit when it came out, although the band was pretty much a one-hit wonder with it.
***** They also had She Sheila which got some air play.
I haven't been seeing your videos come into my inbox on you tube in a while ,I hope you are still doing them
I have not made any new videos in a while, don't know when I will at the moment.
Freewayjim, very nice video. I love the Stone Mountain Freeway. I just wished it and 400 had their exit number mileage-based.
Thanks and agreed!
No problem. You're welcome.

Nice video. I love the design of your road signs this season. Based on a photography?
The signs ARE photographs :)
nice job man its great to see again that road
Thanks!

So that will be your 2014 season trip? Nice. When will that start?
I leave on 6/12 so I don't know when the first video will be but I should have another Atlanta video in the meantime.
Funny ending, nice done

I wonder if anyone has ever made part of stone mountain into a countertop
Some of your recent ATL videos cannot be seen on mobile devices.
Can't help with that, it's a TH-cam-Music Copyright issue.
real nice
Can you play Happy by Pharrell Williams on your next video?
I'm probably not going to use that song anytime soon.
That song would be annoying for a road video!
I remember back in the 80's in the WWE there used to be a wrestler named the Big Boss Man and they said he hailed from Stone Mountain GA but I never knew that there actually is a Stone Mountain in Atlanta......
I remember that guy!
Actually Jake "The Snake" Roberts was from Stone Mountain and Big Bossman(RIP) was from D.O.C. Cobb County.
Dang it, now I remember, I apoligize, I got those two mixed up.......I feel stupid now...LOL
Close enough. They both were billed from nearby Atlanta. I won't hold it against you Andrew.
Wrestling was a huge hotbed over there back in the '80s and '90s with Jim Crockett Promotions and WCW respectively.
Future 3di interstate?
I doubt that will happen although I can see where it could be.
why they DO drive so fast??
+Bob Landy ..You do realize the footage is sped up, right?
+James Derrick godspeed;)
