As someone who spent most of the 2000s and 2010s on the "Nickelback sucks" bandwagon (despite having never listened to their music), I'd like to offer a public apology to the band and to Chad Kroeger. This song is an absolute banger.
At a festival some years ago, they played. We didn’t care too much, were dumb as they come. They opened with this banger and didn’t let go for the rest of the set. Our bottom jaws must still be lying on the festival’s ground somewhere.
And probably because I played this today, I got the McMahon retirement update from ESPN though I'm not subscribed to their YT. Or, maybe, because the universe was vibing with me again idk

I'll tell you why I think they are hated. 1 - Songs sound pretty similar to each other. 2 - The songs itself are quite repetitive and with the structure (same guitar riffs, same vocals, same baselines, etc....) 3 -´They've became a meme in the music industry and its cool to hate them. For most casual music listeners these reasons are irrelevant ( because the songs are catchy,they groove etc...). Meanwhile if you have listen to other types of music you might find their songs kinda lazy, boring after a couple of listens. Despite all that and being more than a casual listener I don't dislike them and I might sing along to their songs They're good at what they do. They just don't do enough for me

That is one great song. One of the best out there. Now days almost everything is produces in a studio. It's better than the crap they call music now.
I dont understand why so many people hate nickelback. I think they make decent music, the riff in this song is actually pretty cool to be honest.
People who say they are the worst band ever are blowing it way out of proportion, there is so much worse out there like Black veil brides, blood on the dance floor, falling in reverse, the list goes on and on.
It's because people like these guys, their shallow and don't have a full understanding. I respect them for liking their music that they create and putting it out anyways not listening to ignorance. If they listened to all this prissy prunes on how to make their music they wouldn't be rock stars and if they were I wouldn't respect them.
I don't want no Metallica coming along. They're great at their style of music, they're not here to please everyone and change their style of music and what they like for them.
So RESPECT to NICKELBACK and if you don't like their music and want something that sounds different PLAIN AND SIMPLE listen to something else. Go listen to another generic song.

I'm not just a Nickelback fan I actually have a very large spectrum of music I like. I just think many of you speak from ignorance and don't wanna accept the fact that there is a giant spectrum of music not making it good nor bad. It is personal taste.
