Ahhh, coming back to my hyperfixation after several years to build a fangame. The lyrics of this, the Tethe'alla Arc, and Starry Heavens are so beautiful and I've found myself returning to the three of them over the years. Such a big comfort of mine that I'm unafraid to keep carrying with me through life
I really was surprised at how much I loved this game, because I'm not exactly the biggest anime or JRPG fan. The planets aligned for this game, that's for certain. Namco did just about everything right with Symphonia. All the way down to this gorgeous theme song.
+SaberOfMoonLight Only thing about Tales of the Abyss is the obsess amount of grinding necessary to beat each sequential boss...did not enjoy that. And I recall a part where I couldn't beat a boss and I couldn't leave the dungeon or wherever I was to level. Haven't played ever since.
The violins starting at 0:55 perfectly encapsulate the feel of the game. Of course the OVA had to cut a LOT of corners to get a 40+ hour game crammed into 12 episodes, but if they perfectly got anything, it's the music.
Man, I remember how excited I was to hear about Tales of Symphonia getting an anime adaptation. Can't deny I was a bit disappointed when I saw that it was going to be a short OVA but boyyyyy at that point I was eating ANYTHING Symphonia-related haha.

Japanese version it's Refill. They changed it to Raine for the dub. Probably was too on the nose with that one given her character type for the game. lol Genius I thought became Genus for the same reason. His character is super smart.

First off, have you guys tried Tales of the Abyss? If not, I recommend it, it's very good.

Uncanny Aura I never had a problem with grinding, actually.
