I'm so grateful that we're able to preserve prototypes and stuff like this. It really gives a peek into development of games, something that should be cherished and not forgotten.
I do prefer the final version of texture on the totals of wumpa fruits and lives but I seriously appreciate a prototype version of Crash 2 where the original textures from Crash 1 are still present counting the wumpa fruits you've collected
Usually private collectors or resellers who finally decide to sell some things in their collection, whether on retro game forums or the rare ebay listings. Either case, they usually end up costing an insane price because they're game prototypes. Rarely, it's by former magazine employees or devs, and even they tend to overprice them. But if you can afford it, you may land something like this Crash 2 build.
Psst! This isn't just a compilation of all the other videos. Skip to 0:45 for something I didn't show in any of them.
I love seeing mind bending stuff like this
I never imagined seeing the other side of that Cortex head protection

Welcome to "crash" Bandicoot

That version of Ruination looks so fun! Back tracking and various routes in true Crash Bandicoot style.
I concur that version definitely should've made it to the final 💯
That alternate "Rock It / Pack Attack" music is.... interesting
I know Josh quite well might ask him if he still has the pre console for this one.
17:32 what?

I like the synth voice on Snow Go
Thank you for documenting these!
I love seeing this prototype for my favourite Crash game
The crystals used to be very well hidden xD
first booted into the warp room and cortex was just staring at you
Hangin' out = HA! N. GIN OUT! Harder even than Stormy Descent (Stormy Ascent mod).
The original soundtrack is... interesting lol
Snow Go's original music was horrendous.
Not even the original music.
A Crash level that can crash... Ironic.
Where does this prototype come from?

What is up with the logo? I've seen this one before but never a source of it.
really cool
Maybe we could cheat to get to the snow go area?
Do you have plans on making this compatible with PSP?
