In this video, Joshua Casper is going to show you around the new song sequencer inside AKAI iMPC Pro 2. This tutorial also features the Fx pad.
iMPC Pro 2 fuses innovative song creation with the iconic MPC workflow. iMPC Pro gave us a powerful sampler and beatmaker, and now iMPC Pro 2 has evolved into a full fledged song creation tool with the addition of vocal tracks, Audio Units integration, a sleek new design and tons of new features!
    AUDIO TRACKS:
Within the audio tracks, you can time warp, pitch shift, and rearrange your audio clips in real time. The sophistication of real time manipulation is captured in a simple workflow and sleek interface. You can choose from multiple input sources to record, including external mic channels, hardware audio interfaces, and IAA. Import existing projects from iMPC Pro and add your vocal tracks easily.
    AUDIO UNIT TRACKS:
You can now load any Audio Units instrument into an Audio Unit Track! Control your AU instrument with a classic piano keyboard interface and an iMPC interface with note variation, Flux Link, Note Repeat, 16 Levels, and more. The app also features an improvement to the workflow for song creation. Song sequencing is faster, more powerful, and more flexible, so you have complete creative control.
100% NEW SOUND KIT AND MORE:
Designed exclusively for iMPC Pro 2, these kits cover some of the most iconic and cutting-edge beat genres available, from producers including ADSR, Rawcutz, SampleTools by Cr2, Niche Audio, and Sample Magic. Each kit includes 16 Hi Quality samples featuring sounds from 808’s to melodic hits and stabs, designed for the best user experience possible.

Hey I really appreciate what you guys are doing here. But There's gotta be more people, producers using this app to create music. Beatmaker 3 is kicking your ass. What I want to know is whether or not iMPC Pro 2 has the same capability as Beatmaker 3 as a DAW. I get how to program beats/drums. What about keyboards/synths? Where do you go to use plugins for those? Can you edit vocals other than to cut and paste? Like pitch corrections? What if I wanted to record my guitar or Rhodes piano (real one) into it? What other plugins can you use to make it sound even more professional? Or is this more for a sound demo/sketch? I wanna use MPC sounds, you know? But if Beatmaker 3 is a better platform as a DAW then I might have to give up using iMPC Pro 2....

GorillaRotation they have audio unit support which gives you a piano roll or a keyboard to make melodies bro it’s nice I have bm3 too I personally use each for a different workflow which makes me come up with different beats

MPC never was a daw, unlike BM. iMPC Pro shouldn't try to be either. Rather it should try to be what the original MPC is. Midi tracks, separate outputs, midi clock. Stuff that the original has. Pitch correction (unless you mean shifting) really doesn't belong in an MPC? That's a feature for more standard DAWs, like Cubasis & Auria. Not that those got it either.
