  • In 2023, a wild wolf from China's Qilian Mountains in Kekexili went viral after being "fed into an internet sensation," sparking discussions and attention from netizens. Videos posted by netizens showed that this wolf not only gained a rounder physique but also exhibited behaviors such as wagging its tail and showing its belly to passing vehicles in a playful manner to beg for food. Some netizens jokingly referred to its transformation as going from a wolf to a dog in just a few months. Others quipped that the wolf had become "gentle and content" and "no longer wanted to put in any effort."

this is how wolves were domesticated into dogs.

It didn't take long at all. The first litter born near the human tribe basically viewed humans as its protectors and pack.
Fun fact: wolves don't bark. The wolves that evolved into dogs developed the bark to communicate with us. Likely it was a fantastic alarm -- nobody likes listening to a dog barking in the middle of the night. It works because its annoying and hard to sleep through when up close. The dogs that alerted best woke the tribe fastest and prevented them from predation and raids from other tribes.
The dog is indeed man's best friend. Probably one of the few things that makes you want to believe in a god. We're all ancestors of tribes which survived because of dogs.
Imagine a wolf pack raised from pups helping humans hunt. That would be an epic sight. Dogs with the noses and endurance and the humans with the weapons and brains to plan ahead.
Life is better with dogs. I have an innate love of them... inherited from my ancestors I reckon. Tribes that loved dogs did a lot better than those that didn't.

Can't the authorities of the place order to take him somewhere with other wolves that are going through something similar? So he's not alone and relying on human food all the time. Somewhere he can hide and learn how to hunt with a pack of his own...

That road is through a no man's land, and there are many dangerous wild animals in there. Minimum contact with wild animals are encouraged. This lone wolf is an exception. His back leg was treated and the rangers tried to return him back to a wolf pack. But he kept coming back to the road and tried to get food from people.

they took him away for a brief moment to check if he was injured or anything, and released him into the wild again.... but the wolf decided begging was better than hunting.... brilliant choice i have to say...

This is not good. This puts the wolf in danger of being hit by a vehicle. The wolf should be hunting, not running in the street risking being hit like it probably did at the end.

He needs to be put in the wolf sanctuary ASAP because the damage has been already done by these people throwing food in the middle of the road. He now associates high traffic- road with food...Feeding him on the road is absolutely irresponsible. If you want to feed him at least feed him in the safe area. As the result, he will be killed by cars in no time. It looks like he has already been hit by a car. He was limping at the end😢

In the natural world, older wolves might have to leave their pack due to a decline in their physical strength or losing their status within the wolf group. Senior wolves often face more challenges, like finding enough food, maintaining their body temperature, and dealing with predators.
