Bible Verses on sermon ; 1. Romans 3 : 23 (Keep following Jesus) 2. Ephesians 1: 7 (In Jesus we have redemption!) 3. Jeremiah 17 : 7- 8 (Trust God ALWAYS, you're too BLESSED to be stressed) If trusting God is being blessed then doubting God is curse. 4. James 1: 6 (Doubting will leave you going back and forth with your worries and looking to God) inconsistencies with your faith. 5. John 11 :16; John 11 : 7-8 ; John 11 : 9-10 (referencing to Thomas as he is normally portrayed as the disciple who has an attitude) Thomas was sarcastic with Jesus. Don't ever tell God that miracles cannot happen. It may not happen in your time but on God's time. Raising Lazarus from the dead. Jesus claiming to be the light. This miracle will prove that He is the Messiah and the SON OF GOD. Do not focus on the opposition. Focus on the MIRACLE! 6. John 11 : 16 Thomas saying for all of them to go and die with Jesus. Others have said Thomas is saying this to die with Lazarus. Thomas is willing to die with Jesus even if he didn't understand the miracle that will happen. WHAT DOES GOD WANT YOU TO BELIEVE? HIS WORST OR HIS BEST? Example Moses. Start seeing Gods best! Are you a believer that has faith yet still question things? IS IT WRONG TO ASK GOD? FOR CLARITY that is a good thing. 7. Matthew 7: 7 - Ask and you shall receive. Its ok to ask God questions for further clarity. 8. John 14 : 1- 4 : Jesus is coming back for his disciples. John 14 : 5 Thomas says no we don't know. How do we get to the kingdom of heaven? You don't know the way, Jesus will come to you where you are. Jesus will meet you exactly where you are and show you the way. He will guide you! And ensures you , you were never alone. The WAY is JESUS CHRIST! 9. John 14 : 6 I am the way, the truth and the life no one can come to the Father except through me. Jesus gave Thomas the clarity. Jesus did not rebuke Thomas. Thomas doubted Jesus. You can't help but doubt even when everything is going well in our lives. When you reject God's direction you reject God's blessings in your life. Scholars believed Thomas was negative , sarcastic and did not see Jesus when He came back to life. Because he would rather see things to believe it. 10. John 20: 25; Thomas wanting to see the marks on Jesus hands in order to believe that He has risen. Jews believed Jesus came to rescue them. There were doubts etc because of their human expectations. What Thomas spoke in this moment of doubt has stayed with him to this day. The beauty of redemption NO LONGER defines who you were. You have been rescued from your sins. The change can happen when you believe on what God has for you. Your present can determine your future, give your life to Jesus today. Your mind is a prison and can cause you to fall back due to your doubts and because of your past self. Remember YOU ARE NOT WHO YOU USE TO BE. JESUS HAS FORGIVEN YOU AND YOU ALSO HAVE TO FORGIVE YOURSELF! YOU BECOME BRAND NEW WITH JESUS! 11. God can take anything bad he can turn it to good. This is what He saw in Thomas. The one who doubted everything Jesus showed up for him. 12. John 20 : 26 - 28 Jesus shows up. Thomas was asked to put his hand on the wounds of Jesus. Do not be faithless. We must believe. Doubting Thomas traded everything and gave it to Jesus. Thomas said he will no longer be burdened by doubts. We don't see to believe, we believe to see. Thomas died in India. He was willing to die for Jesus. How can you doubt Jesus when He has kept you till today? Don't give up on Him. Believe in Him. My belief in Him will always overcome my doubts. 13. Wait on THE HOLY SPIRIT'S direction in order to see the RIGHT CHANGE in our lives. Thomas completely changed. When the Spirit of God lives inside of you it will fight the flesh. Acts 1 : 8 you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes to you. You will be my witnesses. On that day everybody will hear my gospel. No matter how many miracles you have seen there will always be a new challenge to overcome. God's timing is ALWAYS BETTER!
Acts 1: 15 Acts 2 : 1- 3 Speaking in tongues. Acts 2 : 7-8 How can they be speaking in different languages. Overcome your doubts. My timing is PERFECT! People will know the way, because Jesus has given us a new identity. Trust God! Wait on God! Thomas had to learn to overcome his doubts in order to do what he needs to do. He stopped focusing on the negative situations and focused on the miracle at hand. Stop believing your doubts and chase after God. He is the way! Thomas realized that when Jesus came back for him, he realised Jesus is really the way. When you move ahead God you're moving in front of God and His ways. Just like Thomas people will look at your life and say didn't they use to doubt, use to talk this way? But today you have seen change. Somebody's faith will increase because of the change they see in your life. Jesus has made you new! Dont give up today! Jesus came make it happen! Redemption comes by the blood of Jesus.
