I produced this short film to highlight what I believe to be one of leading problems in the Hmong community. Binge Drinking. Blacking Out. Drinking until one does no remember. Drinking as a method to cope. Too many times have I experienced either myself or through stories of loved ones about domestic violence involving alcohol. Taking it up a notch, I'd like to bring into light, toxic relationships that lead to homicides and/or murder-suicides. There has been a rise of these cases in our community. Talking about this topic is such taboo that we do not get to reflect and learn. Hopefully with this film it will be a start to help us deeply think about drinking responsibly. It can be a start to evaluate relationships - whether to stay and communicate healthily, or accept the current situation and leave for the better.

This is a great message to both individual in a relationship. When you're not mature enough to handle a relationship, do not be in one. Sometimes guys do things that they don't want to do because of the wife. Vice versa. When you know your arms are going to start swinging, walk the f away.
Domestic violence is not the answer. Thank you for making the movie and bring awareness to the Hmong community.
Sometimes painful things can teach us lessons that we didn’t think we needed to know. If things get tough, remember the journey you started together. Remember why you first fell in love. Don’t give up easily.
Great job, sadly this is something that happens not only in our community but many. Way to spread awareness.. Great jobs to all actors.
That’s exactly why you shouldn’t party, drink & hangout with the homies anymore when you’re marry. That kinda lifestyle will eventually lead you to this type of situation.

If you live in America and you speak hmonglish and don’t practice bridenapping anymore then why continue to practice the “binge” drinking culture? If you’re an alcoholic, get help. And if you’re with an alcoholic, get out. Stay safe everyone.

She killed herself waiting for him to come home, and he was so drunk he thought he did it.
This is off topic but, talking about the taboo part. In general, every asian communities has their own taboos but one of the most very tabooy part that every asian communities share, is the toxic relationship problems. Even more is, because of this pandemic, alot of racisms and violences has been going on. From the past years, many asian communitties had to bear with violences from other communities, like a low self-esteem kid enduring the violence that the bullies do towards the kid. It's not until recently that there is a "Stop Asian Hate" movement where asians finally got out of the shell and stood up, like a bullied kid who cannot endure it anymore and finally takes revenge. So, I most likely wish and want the whole entire asian community to accept that, whenever there is a problem, do not be afriad to voice it out and do not keep it as a taboo as it will not be an impact and makes it worst.
