In 1428, Jehanne was by herself, without the permission of her father , travelling to the independent Duchy of Lorraine, Holy Germanic Empire, from her Barrois region to the city of Tull ( Toul, today ) at the Ecumenical council from the Diocese of Metz to annul a marriage promise her father had accepted a few year earlier. At that time at the age of maturity which was 20, a woman could present at the ecumenical court a challenge. The Bishop of Metz mentioned she was successful and the fiancé was not happy ! ( She had met René d'Anjou at Nancey ! ) Also, at 20, a year before she left for France. in Nancey, 1428, Jehanne being already well-known was invited by the Duke of Lorraine, Charles II and his wife Margarete von der Pfalz, since the Duke was in need of help, he had health issues. She was also invited to ''run a lance'' in the afternoon. She said to the duke she had no divine or magical powers, she couldn't be of help however she said that his medical problems were from his liaison with his mistress Alyson du May. At the Rehabilitation Trial 1450/51, Jehanne' age was changed, a younger girl , a very young virgin was most important to Charles VII to challenge the English aristocracy . It's still works today !

Okay so I see people a bit confused. She then confessed. And was forced into a dress. I’m not sure if it’s because she was assaulted or anything like that, but she switched back into the men’s clothes and then they burned her because “once a sinner as returned to their sinful ways they cannot be saved”
While the details varies, the contemporary eyewitness accounts agrees that she indeed cried out for Jesus. The account that the scene in the clip is obviously based upon, is the following, which can also be found in the biography _'Jeanne D'Arc: Her Life And Death'_ by Margaret Oliphant: _“Being in the flame her voice never ceased repeating in a loud voice the holy name of Jesus, and invoking without cease the saints of paradise, she gave up her spirit, bowing her head and saying the name of Jesus in sign of the fervour of her faith.”"_

When she looked up the sky I saw the Dove., Jesus Christ is getting her soul.. she has no pain now with Jesus Christ.. just like Jesus Christ not a criminal but He was put on the cross.
When you are made low on earth for the sake of our Lord Jesus Christ. He will exalt you in heaven. He had prepared a mansion for her and a place. ❤
Katherine Howard and Joan Of Arc are both too young to die
Both young women... Katherine Howard, 19 and Jehanne la Pucelle, 23.
Yet, Joan never used that particular family name ''d'Arc'' during her lifetime.
@harrypotterfan1593
please tell why I should '' correct the ages'' ... ... you mentioned in your previous comment that Jehanne la Pucelle was 19 when she died, which then would indicates that she left for France, at the age of 16 which is certainly a dilemma !
( She had met René d'Anjou at Nancey ! )
Also, at 20, a year before she left for France. in Nancey, 1428, Jehanne being already well-known was invited by the Duke of Lorraine, Charles II and his wife Margarete von der Pfalz, since the Duke was in need of help, he had health issues.
Fun/horrifying fact: She wasn't burned for being a witch, but rather for crossdressing as a man.
So it's even worse than it seems!
She was executed due to political reasons, and that was just an illegal excuse. The inquisitorial court stated 25 years later that the whole trial was fake.
Poor joan of arc amén 😢😢😢
That was so dramatic ! Ain't nobody do all that..!
She was burned 3 times
@@_argh.1
She was not burned 3 times !
She was deprived of oxygen, became unconsciousness and died from suffocation.
Burning at the stake...a great amount of straw was placed under producing a large amount of smoke.
Then the body was burned a second time, to produce ashes...
which were thrown in the Seine.
@@RayB1656 yeah that’s what I mean she was burned 3 times to make sure there was nothing left of her after the 2nd time there were still some bones

Your first comment gave the idea she was burned 3 times.
Probably some bones were left, this is why they sent in a bag the remains
to the Seine River.

Nothing screams authentic middle ages France better than modern english and American accents lol 😆.
One has to try to suspend disbelief. English didn't exist
Imagine the difficulty of training actors to speak middle English. And what ever french existed
I love how the common English soldiers look sad as her true enemies were the English royalty as well as the bishop.
Hollywood movie... the early 15th century soldiers and mercenaries, Burgundians or English
would care much, it was just another execution among the other hundreds ....
How I’m sorry 3:22 3:30
Omg why would they do that to her?!!! It’s not right to burn people alive?!!!!!!!!!!! Like why do people have to treat her like this?!!!!!
Okay so I see people a bit confused. So she was captured by the Burgundians, and then was sold to the English, and in turn was tried for heresy, she was found guilty of heresy, but if she confessed, then they would let her live in the church, but still in captivity. She then confessed. And was forced into a dress. I’m not sure if it’s because she was assaulted or anything like that, but she switched back into the men’s clothes and then they burned her because “once a sinner as returned to their sinful ways they cannot be saved”
They did the same thing to Joan of arc as they did to William Wallace when on trail and killed them that they are the threat
Is Tudor era talked about her? 😅
@AngelCakes01 France is Europe
Viva la Resistance!
She never screams for Jesus ,that is a lie
Some parts are added for dramatic purposes
No, it's not. Didn't you ever do any research?
While the details varies, the contemporary eyewitness accounts agrees that she indeed cried out for Jesus.
The account that the scene in the clip is obviously based upon, is the following, which can also be found in the biography _'Jeanne D'Arc: Her Life And Death'_ by Margaret Oliphant:
_“Being in the flame her voice never ceased repeating in a loud voice the holy name of Jesus, and invoking without cease the saints of paradise, she gave up her spirit, bowing her head and saying the name of Jesus in sign of the fervour of her faith.”"_

Why the last moments of Jehanne la Pucelle
totally ''varies'' from one author to the next ?
There were no contemporary eyewitnesses .
The last moments are unknown.
The general population was not allowed near
the old market place in Rouen, only Burgundian soldiers,
a few hundred of them.
The Rouen' market place was outside the city walls in 1431, no houses around, mainly grazing grass fields for the farm animals as the farmers of the area were selling their produce.
Because she was first turned away around age 13 to send her message, but sone revelation cane true, the dofur agreed to see her at age 19 n SHE WAS DRESSED AS A MAN to help get her there safely. After that it was practical. She couldn't very well lead an army all dressed up like a girl. I want to get a tattoo in her honor.

They killed a Saint. Yes, God has His own plan but He also gave us free will. Clearly we have chosen evil again and again that when He sends a messenger, we kill them. This all started with Christ.

She was uncomfortable political figure so several politicians wanted her gone so they made up some false charges in order to trial her for heresy.
She said God choose her and they didn’t like that so they called her a heretic.

Who knew a girl can kick Britain out of french soil.
And im laughing at one commenter claiming she's possessed 😂 is giving me "ah she's a witch vibes" with Zero evidence shown.
Joan with the thousand and thousand of Scottish troops on French soil helped with the siege of Orléans and other conflicts in various Loire Valley' towns.
She didn't kicked the English aristocracy out, since they were still in France for another 25 years after Joan' death in 1431....
A real change happened when Yolande d'Anjou brought in the Duke of Brittany and his army into the conflict and especially when the Burgundians severed their alliance with the English Aristocracy in 1435 !
True, Jehanne was never a witch !
