    A little background on those pressure sensors/transducers...(As an engineer, I designed a manufacturing cell to make very similar ones.)
    The front (threaded end) marries up to a variety of back ends (electrical connectors) and vise versa. They are made with those pins so the manufacturer can stock various front and back ends to the customers order and they are just plugged together to create that size. Yours looks like a 3 pin Deutsch DT04-3P back end married to likely some hydraulic style female fitting. In the cell that I designed, we did a laser weld and then configured it and tested it on a custom machine with a PC.
    The ASIC chip you saw talks to a stress sensor that is mounted to a cap over the port hole that sees the pressure of your machine. More pressure, more stress on the cap and that is turned into an output signal. That was what you saw with those little wires coming out of what looked like a dome of jelly. The OEMs like CAT, JD, ect, commission the cheapest sensor they can get, pay about $25-30 for them and then sell you a replacement for $300.

    • @AndrewCamarata
      @AndrewCamarata  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Sounds about right. I might have been able to cut that whole thing shorter and the pins might have reached. That replacement part was expensive.
