Human connection might be imperative to healing and proper care, however, I have seen so many many cases where healthcare workers have let the ball drop. My father was in the nursing home for less than 2 months and he developed bed sores. I do not think this would have occurred with AI workers. I don't think AI workers would be socializing instead of working. I don't think they would be lazy. My grandmother was in the hospital once, and a worker came in there and did not acknowledged my grandmother, she just picked up her arm and started drawing her blood. There was no healing care there. I have a long list of poor patient care and outcomes relating to human errors and people who are just there to collect a pay check.

You can’t replace human connection in this generation. But what’s scary is what’s beyond Gen Z. Will we have a generation so attention starved and so disconnected from face to face intimate social interaction that this will be normal for them? Will they be so devoid of human emotion that they don’t know the difference? By then, will this be the only thing they know?

I love AI for many reasons but I think there will be a lot of pushback here and people will switch to doctors that employ human beings. A huge component of healing is the human warmth and compassion offered by doctors and nurses and other practitioners. While an AI is profoundly useful in interpreting data, it can never replace the love offered by a caring nurse or doctor. Far more than hearing a voice or seeing something, we are feeling beings, and if 2020 demonstrated anything, we require and crave real human connection. We get to choose which establishments and technology we support. While AI can be employed in so many beautiful ways, it is a logic based "being" which cannot, and should not, ever be used as a substitute for human love and connection. If we make the most of our human strength in terms of our connections & interactions and couple that with the data-interpreting power of AI, then I believe we make the best of both worlds. However we humans are not robots that should be worked into the ground to achieve a cost-based mission, and robots are not humans that should be used as a substitute for feeling beings.

another thing to consider is how well these AI agents can pick up on accents and the particular nuances in languages, especially slang or slurred speech. What happens in those events? Yah forbid, but what if they begin using AI as emergency personnel, EMT's, Paramedics and even 911 workers? Often times a 911 worker has to pick up on subtle signs in the callers language in order to be able to assess properly the situation that the caller may be in. This will end very very badly

I think using AI is all fields to a degree is smart.
If this frees nurses to handle patients in needs verse being on a phone. I think it is very smart. It will reduce their work load and allow for better patient care. They will not select AI over humans for jobs that require humans.

The AI take over in healthcare will be just like the introduction of technology. Very little information given, data transferred., jobs lost and more IT positions available. I remember when things became computerized. I worked in radiology when dark room technicians lost their jobs because of the convenience of computerized dark rooms. And medical records became digital which eliminated job positions. As did positions in areas like dialysis where computers are an essential component of the process.. Nurses and doctors have always been threatened by things like.same day surgery and now telemedicine where there is no longer a need for 24/7 care from a hospital or healthcare establishment. So the technology take over has always been there. AI is just a new term for the advancement of technology.

No, I do not want an AI taking care of me. What are the folks who have created these AI Nurses and etc thinking of. This is going to put EVERYBODY out of a job in every field. Have you not seen IRobot and Terminator? These two movies showed us what WILL and GOING to happen. Look like we, as the people don't have no choice. Father God help us ALL!! Sad! sad! sad! I don't know when we, the people are going to wake up see what the hell is going on and come together collectively and put an end to this. Those people have us focused on nonsense and stupid mess while they are about to make everyone jobless. We are definitely heading to the IRobot lifestyle then to Terminator. 🤦‍♀smh

Nursing is centered around caring science. Robots are cold and emotionless, but so are a lot of nurses. I’m a Nurse is is scary. You see a lot more telehealth jobs, curious to what that is preparing to launch next.

If people refuse to participate then they will have to pivot. There is no way something that was programmed by a human and even talk to me. If my provider is promoting this I will just find another doctor who actually cares about my healthcare. You cannot on any level prove to me that you care about my health by sticking a robot in my face. When you participate you give reason to believe that this will work. I pray that the Lord keep me healthy so I never have to experience this in my life.

In no way do I want to be getting a call from AI and it's talking to me like it gives a damn 😂. Like you aint got no feelings "Max Headroom" so I need to be able to speak to human after the initial greeting.
Sometimes, you have nurses who aren't very friendly nor hospitable. The Ai should be an ASSISTANT to the workflow. It is very useful, and can streamline work and time it takes to get it all down.
But this should make staff step up their CARING nature and human interactive. Ai cannot replace that, and that's valuable. That is what will only keep the best human nurses working and in demand.
