We have sailed for two weeks on the Wind Surf each year for the last 12 years, but our planned 2020 cruse was the first of the cancelled Covin-19 cruises. We hope to be back on "our own private yacht" in December. I agree with all of your obeservations except one. For us, the cruises are all about the SHIP. We love the Caribbean venues, but when asked "where do you go on cruses," our answerr is "wherever the Windsurf goes." The daily sailaways are always special. We never miss them and never get tired of watching the sails unfurl as the sailing musich plays and the wine flows. FYI, the ship was signficantly refurbished in the recent drydock. We have not yer been bank on her, but we have sailing friends who have, and they were very pleased with the changes/improvements.
We went on a fourteen day cruise on the Wind Spirit and visited the French Polynesian islands. What a spectacular trip it was. So enchanting. The islands, crew and food were amazing! We are now looking forward to a fourteen day cruise with the Wind Surf in the Caribbean in December.
I have been on this sailing ship & just booked a 14 day trip early 2020 after the Nov refreshing up it will get. The crew was amazing & will cruise again. The rooms are larger than average & agree it needs to be updated, but was Always Kept Very Clean.
Time for them to build a new more modern luxury sailing ship, hate to say it, I still love the unique look , but it’s very tired now, hope the corporate owners build 2-3 of these ships.
What's the demographics of the ships clientele? I somehow feel it's more on the order of retired or close to retired professionals. Personally I would feel out of sorts if that's the case. Tia
@@29trent it's called demographics. There's a reason there's other cruise lines other than RC or Carnival. Wasn't sure where on the"upscale" lines this one was.
Great review! Thank you, Don and Heidi!
Thanks again for an amazing cruise!

Michael, we hope to meet you in December!
Not been on Windstar, yet, but love cruising - especially on smaller ships. We're all about the ship - hardly care where it's going!

So happy for you and yours
We will be sailing on the Wind Star late July 2021. Very excited.

The largest sailing cruise ship in the world holds just over 300 passengers!
Great descriptive review! You guys are amazing!
Thanks, Christina.

Retired people make you feel unwell? That seems harsh.
