Love these pieces, this is where it all starts for most skaters, I remember the feeling of going to my local skate shop when I first started skating, the guys at my local inspired me to keep at it, and made it a really fun place to hang out everyday, skate shops are the heart of the skateboarding community, without them skating wouldn’t be as worth it
Visited while on my bachelor party, got a pair of dunks and a few shop tees. Stephen was working and was mad cool. Dope shop with great vibes, loved watching this 💯💯💯
The first time I ever visited the NO, I casually stumbled upon Phillip walking down the street as he was going into Humidity. My girlfriend and I hung out in the store for a little while and chatted about art and skateboarding. Instantly felt at home and had chill vibes since day one. We supported and bought product as well! Did my research on em later and found out how much he's been already killing it in the skate scene and I've been following em ever since! Dope to see this feature on Thrasher!
This is the most core shop I have ever been to. The whole crew gives the same vibe as seen in the video. You owe it to yourself to stop in. They have what you need.
Dude I live right across the street from there on Dumaine. Humidity is the shit. Torry is a real one for sure. They don't carry any shop decks, only pro's boards. They ain't undercutting the already pathetic margins they make of deck royalties these days. I go in there and read the shop copy of 'Til 93 and talk about the legends with Torry. I love chilling in the apartment with the window open and hearing skate rats rolling in front of the shop. Anyone who comes through town should definitely stop by here, and Parasite skatepark. Long live Humidity!
Bro I used to skate with Dylan and his twin bro years ago, my homie Matt Green took me on a skate trip from Baton Rouge out there and we skated the local corporate bank 🏦 and Parasite when it was a Nike Sb park with Philly and Jordan, that shit changed my life. I’m 33 and I still skate til this day. Big ups to Humidity frfr ❤
When I have to bring back souvenirs from travels I always try to make it skate-shop tees. Humidity had a hilarious mock New Yorker cover one that my wife still wears all the time. Cracks me up.
Always gotta support skater owned skate shops...and its good to see stephen is apart of Humidity..used to skate with him when he was out here in the bay area over 10+ years ago.
Awesome...... Great skateparks in the area...... Parasite in New Orleans ,La. Dreamland in Hammond, La. Fireman's Skatepark in Houma, La. Magnolia La.(BMX, indoor skatepark) in Lafayette,La. Another new concrete park at Jones park in Lafayette. Brec in Baton Rouge,La... DIY in Biloxi,Ms. at 205 Hopkins Blvd under a bridge..
No one gonna mention uncle softy saying his dad took his board away ? Like why, dude was in his 20s when Katrina hit. Better be to keep him from injuring it so he can continue going to work.
It's a cool story, to see that guy succeed with the odds against him. He is really lucky to have a family wealthy enough to be able to mortgage an asset to the bank for a loan. A lot of people are not that fortunate. But his story does show, that if you have family, or money you can be successful, despite your lack of education. Good on him.
Instead of censoring out the curse words you need to make them stop saying them Red Bull. Nothing says "skateboarding" more than doing what society says.
Mad respect to this shop
