- Punk musician Caff describes how he creates his look.
Caff (Declan Caffrey) shows how he creates his spiky hairstyle using soap and how he applies his eyeliner and lipstick.
On his attitude to wearing make-up, Caff says,
If you want to do it, do it. Don’t let anyone or anything stop you from doing it. Just be yourself be what you want to be.
Caff was a member of bands Paranoid Visions and Dreamcreeper.
This episode of ‘Borderline’ was broadcast on 7 February 1987.
‘Borderline’ was a Saturday morning teenage programme that covered music, fashion and film. It was first broadcast on 11 October 1986 and was presented by Aonghus McAnally, Ronan Johnston and Majella Nolan.

This is me, i was bass player in paranoid visions at the time when they ment something. 😂😂 Im 53 now lead guitar and vocals in immaculate deception... And love life and hate most of thoes wankers from the past 😂😂😂 i done this as a favour to asling the female singer in the band who was working for anything goes.

I am homosexual, as it happens, apart from the stereotypes, it can look like anything...a trucker, a business man, a farmer, a soldier, a cop etc etc etc. The effeminate, camp stereotype only comes from Hollywood and mainstream media.

haha i love it...wish i had been more like that when i was his age....actually i was 16 in 1987 also from dublin...just about to finish school but i was listening to the doors while most were listening to wet wet wet or maybe duran duran whatever lol..just wasnt into any of it...i admire his personality..total dead end tho as society doesnt accept that as a real thing..i hope for his sake he grew out of it or at least made it with a band etc..as yeah not really gonna be hired looking like that im afraid..i think its cool tho...hope he made it.

The whole point of it was because they didn’t care about being hired like you mentioned. They disassociated themselves from society and had a complete different mindset to what your idea of success is when you said “hope he made it”. Their idea of success was breaking boundaries and rebelling against societal norms and considering that, they were successful. I suppose its subjective
