And another fun fact! After Luffy defeated Bellamy, he used a rubber version of Bellamys spring powers (I can't remember his techniques name), in the fight against doflamingo, as a hornor for Bellamy.
Y'know, I know Bellamy's not really a well-liked character, but after Dressrosa, he really grew on me as a character. I actually think it'd be pretty nice if he ended up joining the Straw Hat crew later in the series. But though that's possible, I don't really think it's likely. And if not, then an allied crew could be cool, if he could get some new friends of his own. Not as a subordinate, but an ally.
I thought he was going to join Bartolomeo's crew since they both respect and admire Luffy and they had that scene in the colliseum where Bartolomeo protected Bellamy
Liked him from before that punch. He was playing the role of a villain very well. I also think of his basic use of his devil fruit as an inspiration for Luffy going on to learn gear second.

Something also noteworthy: When Luffy hits Bellamy's head, in both times, the impact ends up being on the side of the face corresponding to the fist used (for the right hand, the impact ends up on the right-side of Bellamy's face, and for the left hand the impact is on the left-side of Bellamy's face).

I saw one translation that had Bellamy's 'Hyena' nickname altered to 'Dachshund'. This gives an entirely different impression of his character than a hyena (long lap dog versus dangerous carnivore that's know for laughing). On a different note, Bellamy's story has now continued onto the front pages where he has retired from piracy to become a flag artist. (See chapters 914, 915 & 917).

He went from having no backbone and laughing at those with ambitions to developing his own ambition (serving Doffy) which was obviously a bad choice and since he was too deep he had an internal conflict during Dressrosa. Oda rarely makes villains in current time sympathetic but he did here and even explored unhealthy ambitions with Bellamy. It was great

Prayer, and also why Edward claps his hands to form a Transmutation Circle, is the combining of the Creative and Destructive elements into one manifestation, which is in effect how we "Touch God". Oda is well versed in a number of spiritual arts, this was no accident :)

The ass wipe from the Jaya/Skypeia arc got his ass whipped by DoFlamingo, multiple times. We only see it twice on screen, but I'm sure Doffy has had to reprimand and discipline this callous and shallow "jumping jack" on more than just two occasions. His fruit was the closest we had seen to resembling Luffy's at the time of his introduction. And it is likely his coiling technique to spring and bounce gave Luffy the inspiration for Gear 2nd. Just an idea though.
