    Tears For Fears are undoubtedly one of thee GREATEST bands of all time how do you come back after 17 years of not making a record and then 40 years after they first met and make an album this good? They deserve to be in the rock and roll hall of fame already and there showing other artist when they perform live there really singing and playing and instrument at the same time! I'm glad there getting the recognition they deserve!!!

      I couldn't agree more. They're brilliant, iconic and legendary. They're extremely relevant and critical to the music tapestry that we have experienced for over 40 years. They're as important and necessary as oxygen.

      thx for the info. I don't really understand the lyrics. WHO knows that he can't love WHO more?

    • @GIGI-lp1gc
      @GIGI-lp1gc ปีที่แล้ว

      @@keep_walking_on_grassThe song was written by Tears for Fears founder member Roland Orzabal with long-term collaborator Charlton Pettus, and was inspired by Orzabal's struggles with grief and the loss of a loved one (Caroline, Orzabal's wife of 35 years, died in 2017).[1] In an interview with Rolling Stone, Orzabal stated that "The song itself was built out of a 'haunting backing track idea' created by the band's co-producer and longtime touring member Charlton Pettus. "He blended a couple of trademark themes, twisted the time signature and left me to sort out the rest."
      Regarding the lyrics, he commented "It came at a time when my (late) wife was very ill. I was watching her become a ghost of her former self. So the song's narrator is in a hospital ward looking at people about to cross the threshold that we call death....The line in the song says, ‘Will you ever know when it's the Tipping Point?' meaning, will you ever know when a person has crossed that threshold from life to death when you cannot even perceive that 'vague and distant void' as it's described in the lyric. I have to admit that even in March 2016 when I was read the riot act by doctors about Caroline possibly not making it through the weekend, I was still in denial. I think that when you've been close to someone for decades, they are living within you as well as without. And consciously I did not believe she would die, though subconsciously I was, without doubt, preparing for the inevitable, arming myself against the future shock."[3]

    Tipping Point is incredible. There is nothing nonsense or filler about their music. In 80s I played TFF until I worn out the albums... now at 63 they give me the songs that touch deep into the spiritual or soul reflecting of having lived 3 more decades. I can only hope that younger people go back and listen to The Hurting and Songs from the Big Chair and Seeds of Love. I feel so blessed to have been alive while these guys were writing their songs.
    These songs are inspiration for my fictional writing.

    I was introduced to TFF from my late Dad when I was a toddler, as I was raised on pure 80s music naturally hating today's music. I was fortunate to see TFF in concert in Wisconsin with Hall and Oates, and absolutely unforgettable experience. To see them come back and create art like this is both breathtaking and emotional. This is the reason TFF is and will always be my favorite band.

    There is no way I could possibly love these guys more than I do. Thrilled to have new music from them after all these years, and that they're still great. • @whatevergoesforme5129
      @whatevergoesforme5129 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Not really underestimated. If you are older than they are and I am an old GenXer who witnessed their peak, then you must be aware that they were so huge back then and were critically acclaimed. Never underrated, never underestimated. The only issue was the falling apart that made TFF with only Roland less appreciated but still receiving good reviews.

    • @whatevergoesforme5129
      @whatevergoesforme5129 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@equipage72 Actually, it is not an opinion. Tears for Fears is not underestimated if you know their record sales and critically acclaimed albums. Maybe you prefer a different genre if you are a decade older so maybe you underestimated them before (just making a guess and I can be wrong about this opinion of what you think). Maybe you are into heavy metal before but of course, I may be wrong about your choice of music. Or maybe you were not a fan before and again I may be wrong and you were a fan of theirs. I was their fan and still their fan. TFF fans know that TFF is never underestimated as a band. But if you think it is just an opinion of a TFF fan and not based on the history of TFF, then that is your opinion. I am not giving you any direction. Think what you like but I have to disagree when people keep saying that TFF is underrated or underestimated when they have sold a lot of records and their songs were critically acclaimed even though snobs of rock and roll hall of fame don't want to recognized them because of their personal preference like how they look down on the Carpenters.

    I am a big U2 fan, and i have to say that their music have not aged that well, but Tears for fears music still sounds relevant today, fresh and exciting, and The tipping point album is amazing, truly something special

    I've got to say, I've loved their music since I returned to civilian life in 1985 after spending 5 years active duty in the Air Force. I was 23 when Songs From The Big Chair was released. Like everyone else, I had it on vinyl. I couldn't stop playing this masterpiece. Fast forward 37 years..... Seeds of Love....masterpiece again. Raoul and the King of Spain sans Curt Smith unfortunately. I received The Tipping Point a few days ago and didn't play it right away.... my mistake. I listened to this "Masterpiece" on my way home from work. I can't remember the last time I played a new release from a well known band that left goose bumps on me with each song. Roland and Curt continue to set the bar higher. In summary....... I am blown away by this album. They hit this one well out of the park!
    And I agree wholeheartedly. Tears For Fears must be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Any suggestions to put some momentum into this will be greatly appreciated! Rock on Roland and Curt! Long live The Working Hour!

    Listened to this song 5x on repeat.
    The beginning of this song is so complex, @ :20 music sounds as if it's fighting itself, and we haven't even got to the lyrics yet.
    Silver tongue reference comes in & you know where he's heading. His pleads, sounding as if he knows his internal struggles from his past constantly haunt him. Understanding he is screaming there is an invisible line that just can't be crossed, yet she always does. Great song coming from a point of past pain that causes internal fighting within himself and with the one he loves. Well done.

    You know that I can't love you more
    You know that I can't love you more
    Silver tongue will soon be gone
    When the sunlight hits the room
    Lay down with them if you want
    Watch their breath and feel the cold
    Raise your hand, bite your tongue
    Conversation is over and done
    We let 'em out, we let 'em in
    We'll let 'em know when it's the tipping point, the tipping point
    So who's that ghost knocking at my door?
    (You know that I can't love you more)
    What's that shape climbing over my wall?
    (You know that I can't love you more)
    Winter done, they'll soon be gone
    From this unforgiving place
    To that vague and distant void
    Where the sunlight splits the eye
    Life is cruel, life is tough
    Life is crazy, then it all turns to dust
    We let 'em out, we let 'em in
    We'll let 'em know when it's the tipping point, the tipping point?
    The tipping point, the tipping point, the tipping point
    So who's that ghost knocking at my door?
    (You know that I can't love you more)
    What's that shape climbing over my wall?
    (You know that I can't love you more)
    So who's that ghost knocking at my door?
    (You know that I can't love you more)
    What's that shape climbing over my wall?
    (You know that I can't love you more)
    Love you more, love you more
    Love you more, love you more
