Thank you for explaining the operation of these. I'm gonna order one. 😁

Love the PMA Micro die adjusters! I bought one for all of my LR caliber die sets.

I aggree, the thing is worth it if you wanna get better headspace consistency. For me it's a bit expansive to buy one per sizing die.

Once the thumb screw is tightened, binding the top and bottom parts of the adjuster together, tightening works just the same as it would with an ordinary lock ring that has been tightened on the die before the die is tightened in the press.
I plan on doing some more product videos, keeping them relatively short and staying off camera as much as possible. This was a fun project because the whole process was new to me, and because they have gotten a positive reception. One thing that I learned from watching others' videos is the desirability of using a tripod. I shot this with a Fujifilm Finepix HS30EXR still camera, and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the picture and sound.

Nice video Boyd. Looks like a really handy tool. Question...when you move back to the locked position after the adjustment how do you know where to stop? Is it by feel?

Nice review of a useful item. Unfortunately, I don't see any way this can be used on my Forster Co-Ax press.

That's a terrific first video, good work Boyd. It is way better than reading a message and looking at still pictures. Do you plan on doing more of them? Maybe stetting up your own channel? let us know so that the guys from AS can subscribe.
    Kindest regards,
    Joe

Hi, very nice gear. I see you have a Harrels Precision combo press. I would like to get more consistency on headspace when resizing, but usually I can't get better than + or - 0,02mm with my press. The reason is the spring back of the brass AND of the press (the harder you push on the lever, the more it will resize). With your press, what kind of consistency can you get on your cases headspace in thousands of an inch or millimeters ?
(Your andswer would help me a lot to choose if I should change press and which one, thanks)

Your handle should come to a definite stop based on the linkage. Do you have interference between the die and shell holder at the top of the ram's stroke? To answer you question, I get very good consistency of bump. The press Is primarily used for 6PPC cases that are fired in rotation within each group, so that their work hardening is relatively uniform.

@@boydallen8059 Thanks. I think I will try to improve the stops of my actual press, before buying a Lenzi

Bump can vary with dwell time at the top of the stroke as well as the amount of lube applied, and more work hardened cases will not be bumped as much by the same setting as newer cases. I suggest that you may want to take a look ad a couple of these issues.

@@boydallen8059 Hi, thanks for your advice. I anneal my brass cases every 3 shots. Just after annealing, I have noticed that it was easier to get better consistency when bumping the shoulder but... I noticed also that at the end of each stroke when the cam hits the stop, it can size more if I apply just a bit more force on it. This is a small press (RCBS Partner), it has a bit of play and some flex in the levers. I realize that it is just strong enough for .308. Now I try to apply every time the same force on the lever, and stop just when the cam touches the stop, it gives better results but sooner or later I'll have to invest in a better press. If you know Lenzi's, it is expensive but it is the best single stage press on the market ! Cheers
