This interview is about Kibembe vs Kifuliru Language Tag.
My intention for this interview is not only for us to keep speaking and learning Kifuliru, but also to encourage those who are bilingual to speak both languages. Kifuliru and Kibembe are spoken in Central Africa (DR Congo, DRC).
I welcome you to this journey of getting to know the Bafuliru culture and its language. Kifuliru language is an endangered language.
I want stop the disappearing of this amazing language.

She answered the questions well, but it seems like she’s not proud of her tribe. Initially, when you asked what tribe she belonged to, it was hard for her to answer, and she should have just said she is Fuliru. I was also born and grew up in the same place as she did, in Kasulu at Nyarugusu camp. As an adult, how can someone like her struggle to acknowledge her own tribe? I speak Kibembe fluently, and I know many Bembe people who are my friends, but I’ve never had difficulty stating my tribe. Being born in a certain place doesn’t stop you from knowing or saying your tribe. Her father is Fuliru, so she is Fuliru too, but it seems like she’s not proud of her tribe.
