She is so genuine in her thoughts and opinions while reviewing. At the same time I find her so expressive. Altogether she is very endearing to the audience.
We Brazilians only make hot dogs like that at home, or for kids birthday parties. And the "straw potatos" as we call them, are much thinner. Must use one of those things to slice vegetables to get them so thin.
I always put avocado, onion and a lot of Mayo on my sandwiches so I can imagine that hot dog tastes great. im half ecuadorian and i love chilenos and their food. they’re awesome people !
Second comment here but, two ideas: 1. "Peasant food" from each country - that national dish that originated from the poorest people, but became the national dish and is enjoyed by all. Feijoada in Brazil, mujaddara in the middle east, usually some kind of rice/bean combo or includes cheap cuts of meat. 2. The "filled dough pockets" from around the world. Empanadas in Latin America, sambousek from the middle east, samosas in India. It's one of those things every country or region has their version of, but they vary slightly - some fried, some steamed, some baked. Could be fun, and delicious!
I love both ideas- especially 1st! Often forgotten food or food that is not mentioned enough. In Serbia (probably entire Balkan) we have something called “popara”. Idea was to use old bread and all milk product that are leftovers. Look super ugly 😂😂😂 but so satisfying. Anyhow- GREAT IDEA!
and i immediately knew it was korean bc my man (who's korean and misses snacks from his country) bothers me to make it ALL THE TIME. not that i mind it, though.
The tunnbrödsrulle 🇸🇪: we use a completely different thin bread, not a tortilla. And the shrimp salad is cheaper and greasier here which goes well with the mashed potatoes 😊
@@kristinnorden2023 no, halv special is a normal hot dog in bread with mash on top of it.
3 ปีที่แล้ว +4
@@kristinnorden2023 and a whole special is with two hot dogs in the same bread. Sometimes the whole special have three scoops of mash and the half has two, but that depends on the seller.
Tunnbrödsrulle is one of the first things I tried when I moved to Sweden, and it is DEFINITELY good post-drinking food! I'm not a big fan of shrimp, but even I like it as part of the experience with this food.
@@Sam_Guevenne they do? I guess the norwegians just love the shrimp salad on their hotdogs, so whenever we order it in sweden we're all in on the shrimp
The roasted onions and what we call in Sweden Boston gurka is missing out in this Tunnbrödsrulle. Boston gurka are the leftovers from pickled cucumber and was invented by the swedish company Felix and originally based on recipie from Hungary.
People in the south of sweden add the shrimp salad on sibylla type hamburgers with everything else like onion lettuce tomatoes cucumber hamburger dressing and ketchup
The Brazilian one it's more often made with a different kind of bread named "pão francês" (french bread), it has a little of crunchiness in it and it's more salty. I think this is because it holds the things inside better and because it's cheaper. But wow, it does bring memories, a really good choice, glad you liked it. ❤️
In Sweden the shrimp salad is a very common condiment (if I can call it that), along with things like potato salad, mimosa, pickle relish and mayo salad (which we just call cucumber mayo) and more things like that. Coleslaw has started to join this market of tasty baguette fillings. It's available at almost every place that has hot dogs, like gas stations. Hotdogs was the thing, along with meatball plates, in Sweden before McDonald's and the hamburgers made their entrance. How we actually ended up with these combos, I have no idea. But I can tell you that shrimp salad also goes great on a sandwich with pate/paté. 😍
Swedish shrimp salad is kind of false advertising, since shrimp salads are mostly mayo and just a few percent shrimp. Still works in a tunnbrödsrulle though!
Right?! Even when you use them you make a sauce with them, you don't just chantai raw unsoaked unseasoned onions on a completo, my stomach hurts just from watching it
I would love to see you do a video on rice dishes around the world. Mexican rice, arroz con gandules, fried rice, jollof, biryani, Greek lemon rice ( which is bomb!!!) Etc. I feel like a lot of countries have their own version of a local rice dish, and it would be really cool to see you trying them out.
Next do Waffles! I love Norwegian style Vaffels with Brunost, sour cream, and cloudberry jam! I had them in Norway and became obsessed with Brunost with my apples and on American style waffles!
... wow.. people who give Chicago a hard time for making "weird" hot dogs has never actually ordered a "hot dog" outside of the US. Yeah these were... pretty wild.
Here in Brazil we almost always cook our hotdogs in tomato sauce, not necessarily chopped up but even the ones in the "completo" are cooked in tomato sauce.
*The "Completo Italiano" don't have onions on it, but it should, I love onions! with homemade mayonaisse is it a killer! we also have a variant called "Hass" where we replace the sausage with meat.*
As a Swede, first I didn't think you could get "shrimp salad" in the US but because there is celery in it, it looks like a lobster roll-kind of filling. In Sweden there is no celery in our creamy shrimp salad but chopped dill instead. But I can definitely see how celery adds an extra punch so I will chop up some celery next time I buy shrimp salad from the grocery store's deli.
My man bothers me for gamja hotdogs ALL THE TIME. He really misses Korea, he left there to come live with me... i think he misses street food and his mom's cooking, so I do my best. He always seems happy about the results, even if it means I struggle the first couple of times to cook the dish he wants.
"Completo" means complete, full in the meaning that it has everything that goes in its other versions. Brazil has lots of hot dog recipes, going from just tomato sauce with sausage to everything that was on this video plus mashed potatoes or even sauerkraut
You're so sweet. Luv the vibes on your channel. Also love the stories that you collect, how your palate is diverse and you always seem genuinely curious and open. Finally, it's true: Brazilians always come period, but specifically when we're talked about!
I laughed loudly when you mentioned the “completo” hot dog cause I never thought of completo as the name for it, I only call it a “dogão” 😂 yours was spot on, and it really made me crave one right now!
@gramosz05 dotca There are variations! :) I imagine the onion comes to replace the sauerkrout, personally i grew up eating completos only with avocado, tomato and mayo/ketchup, but I know about a ton of different combinations

Spot on nada, nunca vi um hot dog igual o que ela fez por aqui, faltou bastante coisa... O indivíduo que passou a receita pra ela falando que isso é um dog brasileiro deve ser preso imediatamente
as a Brazilian i was really happy with the accuracy of our hot dog bacause most of the people from other countries don't make as right as you did. officially invited to eat the original Completo here! 🥰🇧🇷
Ah, Rajat. Our favorite minor character who always makes the best food reviews.

Thanks for adding the chilean completo, is one of the things we are proud of although we dont eat it with onions anymore. love your content
The fact that u searched the history of each hot dog... AMAZING
She is so genuine in her thoughts and opinions while reviewing. At the same time I find her so expressive. Altogether she is very endearing to the audience.
That's the perfect adjective; "endearing". Thank you😊.
We Brazilians only make hot dogs like that at home, or for kids birthday parties.
And the "straw potatos" as we call them, are much thinner. Must use one of those things to slice vegetables to get them so thin.
Hot dog brasileiro bom tambem sao aqueles prensados, estilo carrinho de rua, o famoso "x bactéria" kkkkk.
honestly she mentioned it a couple times with the swedish one and now i'm just thinking I'd LOVE to see drunk foods
I always put avocado, onion and a lot of Mayo on my sandwiches so I can imagine that hot dog tastes great. im half ecuadorian and i love chilenos and their food. they’re awesome people !
Second comment here but, two ideas:
@@nv2605 I'm going to Google that, I've never heard of it!! Thanks for that 😊

easy to make tbh and if you come to Korea, you can def try hella good variety of corn dogs. cheaper and tastier
I watched the video too
The tunnbrödsrulle 🇸🇪: we use a completely different thin bread, not a tortilla. And the shrimp salad is cheaper and greasier here which goes well with the mashed potatoes 😊
And it is called "Halv special" - Half a special!
@@kristinnorden2023 no, halv special is a normal hot dog in bread with mash on top of it.

I'm not a big fan of shrimp, but even I like it as part of the experience with this food.
most people skip the shrimp sallad
@@Sam_Guevenne they do? I guess the norwegians just love the shrimp salad on their hotdogs, so whenever we order it in sweden we're all in on the shrimp
I remember watching that episode of No Reservations, and totally sober I thought to myself "I'd tottally eat that!"

I love how you put on different shirts for every kind of hot dog just to make us think you didn't actually eat them all on the same day!
"Molho de cachorro quente" means hot dog sauce
The Brazilian one it's more often made with a different kind of bread named "pão francês" (french bread), it has a little of crunchiness in it and it's more salty. I think this is because it holds the things inside better and because it's cheaper. But wow, it does bring memories, a really good choice, glad you liked it. ❤️
I'm from Chile, and honestly, it has been hard for me to find a better hotdog than our local "italianos". I'm glad you liked it!
I love the fact that chilean hot dog is called "Italian", that´s soooo classic chilean lol (i´m chilean)
As a Brazilian, I never realized you could make a hot dog without "molho". Blew my mind.
Happy to see my country, Brazil, and our brother Chile here.
Tunnbrödsrulle kan va en av dem godaste gatumaten i sverige
Also very common in Norway ☺️
Swedish shrimp salad is kind of false advertising, since shrimp salads are mostly mayo and just a few percent shrimp. Still works in a tunnbrödsrulle though!
@@pistolen87 you can buy shrimp salad with extra shrimp though, but the ones you get in a gas station is mostly mayo - yes 😜

... wow.. people who give Chicago a hard time for making "weird" hot dogs has never actually ordered a "hot dog" outside of the US.
Yeah these were... pretty wild.
I was going to give Beryl a hard time for not including a Chicago dog. I love Chicago style hotdogs.
What the heck is wrong with a Chicago dog?
@@cyndimack3527 too much toppings i would guess, but then again - i ate hot dogs only in puff pastry with cheese sauce my whole life....
@@cyndimack3527 the weird bright green relish, is my guess?
@susu of course relish is a classic for American Hot Dogs. I always get mine with mustard and relish. I tease my husband for only putting ketchup.
I love how enthusiastic you are about food. The Korean corn dog changed my life. Lol
I think she wanted to recreate a failed version of chucrut...
You're a good person. Food is a big part for anyone's culture and identity.
Sounds like he’d get a lot of joy out of learning to cook himself
"Completo" means complete, full in the meaning that it has everything that goes in its other versions. Brazil has lots of hot dog recipes, going from just tomato sauce with sausage to everything that was on this video plus mashed potatoes or even sauerkraut
It's easier to fix Brazil crisis than make a real completo
