Thank you so much for your lovely comment. I do love making the pages pleasing to the eye, but my main goal is to write. If I try too hard to make things "pretty", it makes me less eager to grab my journal, because I know I'll have to spend time on making it aesthetically pleasing. I soon stopped, haha.
I love seeing so much variety in the journaling community! For me, as an artistic/creative person, without the art or decorations I would only have 1/3 of the motivation to journal. For creative people it’s as much or most of the love of journaling! And without those things in other people’s journals I can only appreciate the nice handwriting or pen for a limited time.
Im a slow reader but i read like im watching a movie, i focus on visualizing everything i read and create a scene. Because of this i never forget what i read even if a decade passes, its all clear in my visual memory, and i get more out of important scenes! Honestly i think its worth it, especially cause i enjoy books more like this too🥰😊

Your journals are beautiful and it really wants me to make journal now. I always start and then it falls off, but I think I will start one and not overthink it and progress from there! I have all these things saved on my phone where it's difficult to find when I want it, yet it did not occur to me to put it all in a notebook. I am going to start that right away.

Honestly, I’m a fast reader, but since 2 weeks I have been annotating and keeping a reading journal: I still read quite fast but I understand and know much more of the books I read now!
Totally agree with what you said about reading slowly. Since doing that and writing down passages that strike me, I've come to appreciate what I am reading so much more. I remember things about the novel better, and can recognize themes, symbolism, etc more readily than previously. It does take me along time to finish a book, but I cannot go back to fast reading anymore 😊

But I don't know how it's done. I would like to get back to paper journaling someday. I did it for years and years. Once online life came along, I did it digitally. I watch TH-cam but I dont use other social media because for me... reading/watching something and using my commonplace book is more interesting. mine is A5 size and I always have shopper of backpack with me (for water and my medicine phone and stuff like that I always need wet tissue and so on) So I keep it with me always. when I am bored even if I dont have book with me and I maybe dont want read through phone (my head hurts if I use laptop or phone much) so I just take out my commonplace "book" and reading through and adding something new entertains me enough. Sometimes I ask my friends/family/teachers/random old ladies I make friends with while having a walk on a beach 😅 to write a quote they like or can think of from me. So I will think of their quite later. Or I ask them to write advice they have for me or just anything they want to say to me.
of their quote* later* a know I make a lot of mistakes writing in english but I am glad my comment was understandable because I didn't use translator while watching and while writing my comment. I study just by myself so don't mind my mistakes ♡

I guess people like to be remembered so even strangers I just got to know by chance and will never meet again agree and write something for me (I usually ask elders because they lived a life you know they have great advices!) they also will write something like "with all the best wishes for you live a long happy life Maria the granny you shared table with at the cafe ♡" really cute memories too! (sometimes I write what they tell me to write because they cant see good or their hand are shaky or something)
