OMG! Thank you G! 🥰 I had the very best time. This was my first year participating, and I've just started my own character journal (hoping to share that soon too). I think this world you've created is phenomenal, and I'm excited for the Fall Equinox in September!
I love literally everything about your journal! Especially the borders, they’re so cute! I’ve definitely taken a lot of inspiration for my journal from you 🫶🏼
I love your journal! My journal is more about stats than creativity. You have created a few tables that I’ve never seen before. Thank you for the inspiration.
wow, your readathon spreads are stunning! Including so many Dutch doors/tip-ins allows the spreads to shine while still including info. I love that you've used bookmarks and other elements that tuck into pockets, so cool! you could maybe use some of those blank pages at the end to reflect on the six months-- from what spreads worked, ideas for the future, what books stood out; maybe some personal journaling too, so when looking back at what you were reading you can also have some idea of what was going on in your personal life as well.
Hi Laura! Thanks for the ideas. I ended up printing out the graphics I made for my mid-year freak out tag, and making a spread in the back. I’m also going to transfer the vocabulary I’ve been documenting in my phone back there too. 🥰
Welcome! Thanks for hanging out in my corner of the internet. 🥰 Pango books is an awesome app that lets you buy and sell used books. The sellers usually wrap the books and some include stickers or bookmarks. pangobooks.com/bookstore/windmillbooks
I kept having to pause and go to my Goodreads to add more to my "want to read" hehe. Your spreads are so beautiful. I just started a reading journal in Sept. Excited to set up next years. Will be checking back for inspo.
Interesting to see how different folk use their reading journal. I also realised towards the end of the video that I've now watched this twice without realising (the carnaval/circus layout was a lil too familiar to me 😂) so good job on making the vid interesting enough for me to somehow watch it twice! Lol
That’s such a huge compliment! Thank you. I’m glad it was enjoyable for you both times. I’ve definitely clicked on the same video before and realize halfway through that I’ve watched it before 😂.
This is the best compliment! 🥰 I am so excited for you to start a journal. Just remember to have fun with it, and adapt it to your reading styles! Please let me know if you share it anywhere! I want to see 🫶🏼 (and I agree, I think I’ve got the best bingo board style 🙃)
it was such a lovely video! it gived me so much inspiration! For your last blank pages you could do a playlist of the kind of music you listen will you are reading, or maybe a song related with every fav book
So many beautiful and interesting spreads! I love what you did with square journal layout. I just finished the first book in Shades of Magic series, I LOVE your spread for it! You can maybe leave the pages blank so you could cut them out and use in new journal if needed. And the new one is stunning! I adore the colour you chose. I'd love to have a square journal but the shipping from a&o is extreme lately (i know, not their fault) and i haven't seen square journals anywhere else or they were not shipping to slovakia :/
Thank you RyeMi! Its such a beautiful series. I love VE Schwab's writing style. I was hooked from the first page. I believe that A&O are working on getting their products in to international stores, so maybe soon you'll be able to ship from a closer country.
love love love your journal setup!! the colors and patterns are so fun!! quick question because i’m curious, what made you set up your tbr horizontally instead of vertically? thanks 🩷
That is an excellent question! I set it up vertically last year because I was using a more narrow A5 size journal, and having the spread vertical allowed me more space to write across. I suppose it didn't matter for this journal though since its a square! haha. I've never thought about it, but now I'm excited to switch it up next year. Thank you so much for watching! I hope you got lots of ideas for your journal.
Thank you! 🍓🫶🏼 I use the A-Sub photo paper from Amazon. It’s 66lb (thick like cardstock) and very shiny. Here’s the link though: a.co/d/0dTUHJUL I’m also trying out this style. It’s like a magazine paper feel (thin, less shiny) and I like this for most images now. If I’m creating a flap I’ll use the thicker one. a.co/d/0hvBdylk
@@ronettewinston1706 of course! I’ve found that any printer when matched with the right type of paper, will give you a good print. Since I use a photo printer, photo paper works well and copy paper does not. It stinks that there is so much trial and error involved. Good luck!
You are too kind! I’m really proud of this one, but when I look at my previous journals I feel the same way about them. It definitely takes time to find what works well for you. I used to try painting these beautiful spreads because that’s what my favorite creators were doing, but never loved what I was making. I love paper crafts, and started to embrace that style and am working against my instinct for perfectionism. Enjoying the process will absolutely make you fall in love with your own journal. Keep playing with it and you will have a Picasso too!
Love this! May I ask, did you create a student report card for the Magical Readathon yourself? I can't seem to find it in the readathon drive, but would love to have it if it exists! Update: Nevermind, I see that it was available in the Discord!
Haha! You beat me to my answer. What character are you playing this year? For anyone else curious, you can find it by searching “student report card” under the scribe tower chat in discord.
@@manda_made I made an elf and ended up in The Order of the Crescent! I chose Master of Elements as my calling, but there are plenty other callings that also appeal to me so I might choose a different one to work on for next year, hehe! I'm quite far behind in the readathon as I'm starting so late though so I'm not sure how much I'll be able to complete until the autumn equinox lol. Getting back from a very long reading slump :p
Lol! I think vocal fry just comes with the territory of growing up in Southern California. I’ve got that strong Valley Girl accent. Though I try to keep my “likes” to a minimum 😂.
your spreads are so gorgeous!! i loved this flipthrough! i’ll have to come back to this when setting up my 2025 journal 💕
Awe! Thanks friend. I’m glad it inspired you. 🥰
I loooove these spreads for magical readathon thank you so much for participating and for sharing these 🥹💜 hope you had fun!

oh wow your journal is phenomenal, just watching you flip through it was a magical experience!
Awe! Thank you so much. It's given me a fun creative outlet the last few years. I'm glad you enjoyed!
it really is magical. i now need to have a reading journal 🤣
Do it! It’s so fun.

I'm so glad I could inspire you! Excited to share my June-December flip and my book awards later this month. Stay tuned! 📚💛
I love your journal! My journal is more about stats than creativity. You have created a few tables that I’ve never seen before. Thank you for the inspiration.
I'm so glad I could inspire you to try something new! 📚 I use Notion for my stat tracking, easier to change it as I go.
Your spreads are so bright and fun! Makes me excited to keep up with one in 2025 :)
Do it!!! It’s honestly so fun to look back at all the books you read each year.
Everything is so pretty! You have so many unique ideas!
That is the sweetest compliment! Thank you. 🥰 Working on some new ideas for 2025.
Wow! So many spreads I never thought of! Loved your buddy read spread and your “book awards”! So creative!
Thank you so much 🤗 Reading is so much more fun with others, so I always have a buddy read on the horizon. I'm so glad you got some new ideas!
