Thanks for the cheat sheet!! I wish it was included in the game but I’m glad to have it. Thanks for calling out the play testers too! They are all under appreciated. I bought 2 of these. I love Renegade games.
Well they already sold one copy to this A&A fan. Can't wait until it arrives in a few weeks! Also got guadalcanal (finally after years of almost paying the extreme price for the out of print version) and the 1940 global neoprene big boy map as well! I had no idea Renegade took over this series, but i'm really happy that they did. If they make the games, i'll buy them!
Wait, is Andrew Seligman AndrewAAGamer? That's so cool! I didn't know until now he was involved in the playtesting of this game. He's amazing, he beat me at Global 1940 as the Axis even though I, as the Allies, had a 72 IPC bid. Yeah, I noticed right off the bat that this is definitely very complicated. Thanks for pointing out that North Africa incorporates elements of the 3 previous theater level games. I found the part about unit types and stacking limits very informative. I didn't think of that and I'll definitely have to keep that in mind. Can't wait to buy North Africa (though I'll probably still be busy playing G.I Joe and Guandacanal)! Thank you for sharing the cheat sheet! That will be immensely helpful. What handle does Eric Zielinski use on the forum? Thank you!
Thanks for the cheat sheet - it is tiresome to go back to the rule book so often. I have played a few games of it, and as the UK, I focus on a strong navy and air force, and that seems to work to crush the Axis reinforcements, and when the US comes in, they bring the stacks of tanks to finish the job.
@@TheHilltopPillbox are most your games solitaire? Of course, I’m an advocate for playing against as many different people as possible to learn and steal the best strats.
@@thegoodcaptain1217 Yes, unfortunately, it is difficult to get people in my area to play A&A very often. There are a couple of guys who enjoy them, but their schedules get in the way. I agree. We definitely get better when we see the game through different eyes. I have been privileged enough to play with some world-class people, and I absolutely became a better player because of it.
@@TheHilltopPillbox yeah, no kidding. I've got a full blown platform for AnA tournament in LA and its like pulling teeth to get anyone to show up. I'm trying to get some guys to program a TripleA.
Hello captain! I wanted to ask if you ever plan on doing an a&a anniversary '42 series, your videos on the '41 setup have really helped and l'm really curious about what you would do in the other setup, mainly what to do with russia on the first turn (what counterattacks to make and with what) and whether or not you can build an Ic in India with the Uk
Good question about the openers for the '42 setup. I don't yet have plans to do a video(s) on this as I am currently running games of original Europe at the moment and then will be going into the new release of Africa. It may be some time before I revisit Anniversary for the '42 setup.
@@bobho-un7be it’s out now. But short answer: yes, I’d like to. But there needs to be some kind of online platform to stack the necessary amount of games. I’m looking into that…
So, im seeing the tactical aspect of the game referencing operational scope rather than gameplay. Dont see tons of room for real flanking maneuvors and so forth.
Since flanking or being flanked is essentially always an option, there are different ways to mitigate or take advantage of the mechanic. It is not in and of itself a vital component of the game (at least not more so than any other attempt to represent some theme like getting reinforcements across the med). With rule concepts like this in Africa, you may play against someone where it is rare for or uninteresting. Then you might play someone else and you find it occurs more frequently or is/was more effective.
@thegoodcaptain1217 I get it, I just know that element of the game was pitched in the promotional material. It's also the sort of ability I'd look for in a tactical level game. This just looks like the usual fair with smaller scope. Having said that, I know I'm getting hung up on that element and will enjoy this for what it is. Thank you!
@@jakzed I’m not quite sure if you feel the game is too complicated or that the flanking is oversimplified. I personally feel it may be too complicated but that this sorta dissipates after repeated playings and is overall best played against a human opponent. I feel that Africa is a tough row to hoe when played solitaire.
@thegoodcaptain1217 it's really more the latter for me. Looking at the land spaces, I just don't see enough for meaningful tactical maneuvering. I suppose that's the best way to put it. As I said, I'll enjoy it for what it is. Just wish my copy would come quicker.
I’m hoping for more content on the game by you. Eagerly awaiting my pre-order to arrive. 😊

Good stuff: interesting to think the Stack Limits encourage exploring optimal builds. I can hardly wait for September's U.K. release.

Great video! Thanks for this

Excited to hear your thoughts on this game. Eager to see more new Renegade Games Axis & Allies products.
Nice video and well noted comments.
woah nice!!
I see the box, it is called North Africa? I like the idea of adding supply and stackng limits to Axis & Allies. Wll try this one for sure!
