That funky noise she makes is the sound of a trombone. She nailed it.

This musical performance was from the 1941 comedy film, “Buck Privates”, which starred Abbott and Costello.

The “major war” was only WWII!! For pity’s sake!!
The man watching the video has absolutely no idea about the perfection that is this song and the Andrews sisters performance. I feel sorry for him. I watched his reaction to the film and he had no reaction at all except at the end to criticize something stupid. But his reaction is the outlier. 99.99% of the rest of us love this video which is from the movie Buck Privates. This movie made Abbott and Costello famous and it elevated the Andrews sisters popularity even higher. This song and the Andrews Sisters’ performance is iconic in the annals of American entertainment.

The Andrew sisters had to come up with their own dance routine . They didn’t have any help.

This song is a "Timeless classic!" It reached no 6 in "Songs of the Century." The Andrew sisters were a "class Act" and were very popular in the 1940's. Nothing in today's music can compare.

Love the Andrews Sisters, discovered them in 1964 at age 11, my parent's old 78 records. That twang in the songs.

This was just before the US got in WWII was in the movie Buck Privates, Starring Abbott & Costello, the film became a huge recruiting tool for the US, It also launched the cast (A&C, Andrews, & Jane Frazee) to upper crest of Hollywood, A&C became highest paid actors of the 1940's.The Andrews entertained the Troops during the war, even coming under enemy fire...

Universal Studio, which made this film, was quite low-budget and wouldn't even hire a choreographer to help the Andrews Sisters with their dancing. I'm sure the studio didn't allow much time for rehearsing either, nor would it have spent the time and money to shoot multiple takes of any particular scene. So if this performance isn't totally precise, that's why. But the Andrews Sisters were primarily singers and not dancers anyway.

They were little back then. Not as much junk food or chemicals in food.

Also more walking. My mom walked 5 or 6 blocks to do her food shopping and there was not supermarket in our neighborhood so she would go to the butcher, produce store, fish store, etc. In the early 40s there were still men selling vegetables, etc using a horse and wagon. By the middle of WWII, most of those were gone and supermarkets starting growing.

Christina Aguilera - Candyman, she borrowed from this song. There is also a great mashup of the two songs called - Boogie Woogie Candyman (Christina Aguilera vs The Andrews Sisters)
