Chris Hansen ok let me correct you on something. Werner is a beast with his runs and opening up a defense. Although he has trouble scoring he opens up chances for his teammates for stretching the back line. He doesn’t suck he’s very underrated by his runs. Although I love puli Werner is still a great player

@@johnrobert3366 USMNT was in the same group with Portugal, 2014 Brazil, and Portugal went home after group stage. The same happened to England on 2010 Africa. It doesn't mean USMNT will beat either those teams next time they are meet, but USMNT also isn't scared if they meet them either.

The US national team is young, deep, filled with talented players from the biggest clubs in the world, and has won 3 consecutive competitive matches against Mexico.
On the other hand, Mexico's national team is old, slower, hampered by LigaMX over-pricing players who might otherwise benefit from playing abroad, and is riding a three game losing streak to its biggest rival.
Do we really care whether Mexico "respects" us? Respect, disrespect, whatever you like... as long as you get on the bus knowing you lost - with all due respect.

I must emphasize that anything critical I may say about the Mexican team is directed *only* at the team - not to the country or her people.
I love the US vs Mexico rivalry. First off, it's truly a great derby by any standard. Second, the animosity (in my mind) is confined to the pitch. It's scrappy, contentious, and even violent at times. The eye-gouge, for example, should have gotten him sent off well before Steffen and Robinson got booked.
But, that's what makes a sporting rivalry great. I've sat in bars and watched US vs Mexico matches whilst drinking beers with Mexican fans. Great time had by all. Cheer, yell, scream... but no bad blood between fans.
