And it rusted after this cleaning process? I am sure citric acid in lemon will rust any metal. I would certainly not use this method but even if I did, I would thoroughly rinse the part with distilled water. But still cleaning metal with lemon is pretty damaging. Better to wash with diesel or EGR cleaning solvents. They are safe on metal and also the rubber gasket inside the valves.
