Sometimes they aren't hateful just critical. Saying nobody else wants to or is willing to do certain jobs except (Latino's, Guatemalans, etc etc.) which is FALSE for example. Those jobs are sometimes segregated especially in certain parts of the country, but are diverse overall. About 30% of Texas farm workers, mainly in CAFO'S, are white anglo for example, as are close to half of construction laborers and workers in most other hard construction Jobs in general. Yes Latino's are very overrepresented and in some places totally dominant, but they are hardly alone overall.

That's why I said SOME comments are just critical. I'm actually a big fan of Southern Life even if I sometimes criticize them. But I will also defend them against unjust attack which yes I have seen that here myself. However, no, I don't mind at all if he says Guatemalans are hard working. Guatemalans in the US ARE generally hard working people! That isn't the same as referring to nobody else wanting to do certain kinds of jobs. Saying certain groups are especially hard working or that they are MORE often willing to do certain kinds of work is one thing, as it is true!!! But overgeneralizing on this issue actually becomes insulting other hard working people by effectively denying their work ethic. Great video. Lived there 20 years, left 20 years ago and I still miss it. Now live in Western North Carolina. There is no way you can explain to someone what it is like there. Kinda good that people visit and think it is nothing special or ugly. It's the people. The nicest people I ever met in my life. I really miss the genuine kindness of Oklahoman's. Yep the north and west side of the city has different ethnicities in the same places now. The east side and Southside are still pretty much the same though. There are also a crazy amount of gangs in OKC. Most outta state people don't believe how crazy Oklahoma can get til they get here.
I do remember Asians and Indians living around the NW area and Hispanics and whites living on the south side not sure how big multicultural it might be now since 2008

I left south Oklahoma City after graduating from high school back in 1980. Back then it was more than 90% Caucasian. The racial composition of my high school at present is majority Hispanic with equally percentage of African-Americans and Caucasians
They do. It's mostly segregated in terms of neighborhoods which means Mexicans beef with Mexicans and blacks with blacks. In general they do get along.
We learned to get along with each other & respect each other's spaces, in the 80's was racial since they didn't knew enough about each other but since then the relationship has been way better on the streets

They were surprised that I had been robbed multiple times, had my house attacked, and multiple grand theft auto attempts. I lived on the safe side of Del City too. Schools should show ppl what's going down in the slums so we can help ppl get out or be motivated to fix things. It's okay for ppl to stay safe, but it's also a good thing to explore other areas and raise awareness.
Meatpacking has a very diverse workforce about 40% of which are immigrants the rest not btw, while construction is mainly Latino or non Latino Caucasian. It depends on where you go however as it's often segregated. In some places most employers will only hire certain groups.
