Ancient Egypt, pretty flowers, beautiful jewellery and beautiful girls are literally the main inspirations I have and I really appreciate that your art has those elements too
Enjoyed watching you paint at a "normal" speed. You really get to see how to use the brush and paint. You really don't learn anything from the sped-up versions. Delightful to listen to as well.
I know you quickly pick this up by doing, but it's good to hear again that only few washes on top of each other are key in watercolor! Overdoing it can look forced, and yeah, the colors get muddy. Great reminder! Thanks, Lioba!
I love how you explained how to do it :'( A lot of artists I'm subscribed to don't really do that and sometimes I get really confused when I try their technique. I stopped painting with watercolors a year ago because I just couldn't get the same results. But now that I've seen your videos, I'm more optimistic about how I'm going to go through with my next pieces. Thank you so much :) You just earned yourself a subscriber.
I’ve been drawing for 19 years and have hardly touched watercolor, I’ve been getting the itch to make Art Nouveau really bad lately! This video was really informative for supplies and the process, in the future I’d love to link how my attempt at it goes :) thanks again for this video!
Love this and the passion. I will be doing this style with a different idea for the decorations/border for my friends Christmas present using her portrait
I like your approach to this vlog, presenting your art materials to revealing yourself at the end which maken it more personal..am an artist myself and have learned some valuable tips from this art nouveau (I'm a fan) painting - many thanks, Lioba!
@Emily Jaworski XD never saw it that way! I liked the intro a lot but I can totally understand if everyone is doing it that it isn't that original anymore. I DO still like this type of intro though soooo.... 😅🤷
Miss Bruckner I just love this picture and you Love art nouveau like I do. I can not draw anymore but to color your art work would be a blessing. Have you ever thought of making a coloring book with you pictures that other people could color? I think it would be a hit! Love your friend Terri Simmers.
I feel like people struggle with watercolor so much because of how essential the intitial drawing is. You nailed this composition but i feel like if i tried this it would be a disaster. I really need to put more time into my sketchbook and put the watercolors away for abit. Great video and thanks for the insight about layering. Helpful for us still stuck on the cheap Canson XL papers where thick application isn't exactly ideal. Strangely, it's very hard to find specific info about using few layers, dry brush, and wet on dry. Once again, great video.
Love your work! I struggle when adding pencil crayon to watercolour paper to get it to blend. It looks grainy! How to do you get the pencil crayons to not look grainy on the paper? Thnx!
Its hard to see in video but there is a light grain, if you work from very light pressure and small circles to keep an even application, as you slowly build up the layers where you want it darker it will transition into a smooth blended look
I’m happy I came across this video. I’ve always seen that style replicated by artists but I never really thought about it originating from anywhere and now I know who started it all and that’s really cool to know. Also, I would see that term but I didn’t know that is what it was called/referring to. Thanks!
I couldn't resist: I see the TH-cam notification and I come running to watch it! I'm a fan of your work! i try to learn from you maybe one day i will learn! Sorry, this is via translator.
I love Mucha and I love your art too. You inspire me so much, every time one of your art pieces pops up on my Instagram I just feel so inspired to paint! I hope that I will eventually be as good as you one day. I just uploaded my first sketchbook tour and I definitely have a long way to go until I am as good as you!
Yes, this is how I do most of my artworks! Drawing it would be more fun but it takes 5 times longer and as a working artist I don't have the luxury to to that because I need to work as effectively and time savingly as possible ! 🤷
@@LiobaBrueckner ahh well, I fundamentally cannot understand why that is a normalized, acceptable way of making professional art. Many professional artists(if not most) don't work that way. Imo it's lazy and cheapens the work. However, I accept and acknowledge that that is just my opinion. I don't mean to reign on your parade, you do you. Clearly you are successful at what you do(which is great). Tracing and not doing the work is one of those things that bothers me.
I love how inclusive you make your art in this video :) You encourage me to give art nouveau a try and give a lot of ideas on how to use watercolour and coloured pencils. I myself usually use ink, acrylics and oils for my art and guess it would be so much fun to get into a new medium :)
Ahh thank you so much! Yes the beautiful piano covers from doopiano are all from different musicians, next time I make sure to include the name of the song! :D
Oh I don't have tutorials on skillshare myself! I am so sorry for the confusion! 🤦♀️😵 But you can find wonderful tutorials on Skillshare though from lots of great watercolor artists like chris hong for example! My tutorials are only avilable on my patreon page www.patreon.com/liobabrueckner

The variety of colors in the leaves brings so much interest to them. Lovely!
Mucha is also one of my all-time favorite artists, too. You represent his style well!
I love to see your kuretaki paints so loved! It inspires me to stop ‘saving’ my art supplies and instead enjoy them.
You can do it! :D
😘
I love how beginner friendly your videos are! But at the same time so professional.

Wait, you trace the collage that uses photos? So you didn't draw anything?
Yes, this is how I do most of my artworks! Drawing it would be more fun but it takes 5 times longer and as a working artist I don't have the luxury to to that because I need to work as effectively and time savingly as possible ! 🤷
