Like 5 years ago, I was desperately looking for a DAO playthrough. I vividly remember starting a few where the players would just pick the default character appearance(!) and would stop to read every single codex entry. When I found you guys and you spent who knows how long making your character, I went like yesss these are my people 💜
People act like this game is all sunshine and rainbows and bunnies, and it absolutely is not. This game makes you feel things viscerally. Excited for your playthrough!
@@MyNameIsBucket i mean, dragon age realistically hasn't been blood-soaked pitch black dark fantasy since dao, idk why people are so hung up on that. da2 was still fairly dark but inquisition pulled back significantly 10 whole years ago. veilguard isnt grimdark like dao but it definitely has dark and heart-plummets-to-the-bottom-of-your-stomach moments, and imo the lighter tone highlights the horror of them much better than a perpetually gloomy atmosphere would. just last night i walked past a scene that made me legit queasy, it wasnt a cutscene or anything, just something happening in the background. had that happened in dao it probably wouldn't have struck me as much tbh! both approaches have their pros and cons (sorry this isnt an attack on you, or your comment im just generally frustrated about the discourse around this game, its so difficult to geniunelly talk about what it does right and where it falls short because a lot of people are going about it in bad faith hdfidugh)
@@crowdenksare you talking about the halla sacrifice? Cuz that made me a little nauseous too 😭. But yeah I so wholly agree with this whole sentiment. People don’t understand how important it is to have light moments in a dark game. Arbitrarily darkening every single interaction and setting just takes away all the impact and shock of the truly dark moments. The contrast is what makes it feel sickening and visceral.
I disagree 100% I've beaten the game and it mostly feels light, as if the characters don't understand the gravity of the situation. Even inquisition has more of a serious tone throughout. Still enjoyed the game, but I'm not going to pretend like it didn't feel like a marvel movie the majority of the time.
loved this ep! you always put so much thought and effort into your videos and I can't wait to follow you guys through another rpg! coros looks truly stunning, their angular face is offset very nicely by their curly hair. I really enjoy how you guys always try to vary your character designs between games :]
i remember watching every Inquisition upload as they came out back in my first year of college. so much has happened since then. like ya'll said - so long ago and yet, not that long. so excited to see what's in store in Thedas once again. Dragon Age was my first true hyperfixation so i will not be normal again for a long time
Almost two hours of character creation, loved watching you two go through the process. I played a Qunari and 80% of my time in character creator was spent trying to negate the megamind look by fiddling with scalp sliders and hair.
Ahh so excited to see you guys play this. Looking for inquisition playthroughs was what brought me to your channel and I'm excited to be here as this one is coming out.
Y'all were actually what got me to give Dragon Age: Origins a try, just by watching y'alls playthrouh, I got intrigued. I'm so excited to watch the playthrough of Veilguard, especially since I've already finished a playthrough and won't risk spoiling myself!!
I just started my playthrough yesterday and have avoided all trailers and reviews as well. I have waited so long for this game and am so worried about all the negative press it's been getting. I am hoping I am pleasantly surprised. Can't wait to see what your Rook does!
Having just come off of watching the full Inquisition lp, the confidence with which the two of them asserted they disbanded the Inquisition rather than place it under Divine Victoria was especially funny
Guys, I am so happy to see you play this! Unfortunately, I will not be watching your gameplay before I play this game by myself first. Good luck, though!
I'm super curious regarding Gina's take on this one. 👀 I have an idea, but it'll be a fun ride watching it through as well playing it. Guess I'll slow my playing pace a little bit for now. ❤
rolled credits on my own playthrough last night, had a good time with the game. looking forward to seeing how you fare and how y'all find it over the next few years
WHEN THIS HAPPENED I AM SO HAPPPYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY - happy ! ^_^ i will leave it with you! it's not on your schedule? bummer yuou playt so early in the mornign for greek hours
btw, i know you two don't need another massively long rpg to play, but have you considered Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth? It's extremely good. quite possibly my personal GOTY this year.
the scream i scrumpt
I've been waiting many years to see yall play this game. Well worth the wait, I'd say.
I'm so happy to you guys are back!!! I've been looking forward to this video for years 😁
I’m glad to see that I was not the only person to struggle with choosing a hairstyle in this 😅
In huge opposition to how Dragon Age has been before, I felt like these hairs was too fancy XD

SAMEEEE
I'm still so happy to have found them back then
YAY!!! Been hoping and waiting for you guys to play something that I a) am into, and b) have played enough to not worry about spoilers.
That's always the LP sweet spot
People act like this game is all sunshine and rainbows and bunnies, and it absolutely is not. This game makes you feel things viscerally. Excited for your playthrough!
I should hope so. DA:O is a blood-soaked pitch black dark fantasy. Toning the series down at this point would be a disservice.

@@Darkdirewulf I can’t think of a single moment in inquisition that felt particularly darker than Veilguard.
I am so excited for this!!! I found your channel through Dragon Age and it makes me so happy you're playing this!!!

This was me when recreating my Qunari inquisitor, I had to spend almost longer on my inquisitor than my Rook
This is THE Veilguard playthrough I've been hoping for!
Awesome! I just got this game myself and still need to work through it, but I'm so excited to see how your playthrough goes!
Fun fact, the voice you chose for Rook also voiced Nine-Fingers Keene in BG3
Ahh so excited to see you guys play this. Looking for inquisition playthroughs was what brought me to your channel and I'm excited to be here as this one is coming out.
I cant watch this yet because I havent started Veilguard yet but I am so hype for this! Your inquisition playthrough is still my absolute favorite!
From Inquestion to this. I've been enjoying this game a lot, and look forward to seeing the playthrough.
So much character creation as it is
yay! happy to see you guys playing this!!!
I haven't seen the talk it out scene before, and I actually like it so much more than the other tone. It is still good, but this was very fun to see.
Y'all were actually what got me to give Dragon Age: Origins a try, just by watching y'alls playthrouh, I got intrigued. I'm so excited to watch the playthrough of Veilguard, especially since I've already finished a playthrough and won't risk spoiling myself!!
So exited for this, been waiting!!!
Oh yeeeehaw, let’s go! Looking forward to seeing this with you two.
I am so excited for Gina and Allison play this game.
We met at PAX West earlier this year.
This breathes life into me.
I miss the color wheel for picking eye color, my Inquisitor's eyes are have now dimmed from the vibrant purple they were
WE ARE SO BACK
I wanted to see how youwould play this one. A fan of your channel since 2022.
oh we're so back chat
new s1g dragon age play though… I feel like I ran a mile and jumped in a ice cold lake
I am so hyped for you to play this, I'm already on my second playthrough and I hope you enjoy the game as much as I do!
YYEEEAAAHHH!!!!! s1g bioware playthrough my beloved!!
I just started my playthrough yesterday and have avoided all trailers and reviews as well. I have waited so long for this game and am so worried about all the negative press it's been getting. I am hoping I am pleasantly surprised. Can't wait to see what your Rook does!
Coros Mercar is an amazing name and they look stunning! Can't wait to see their exploits.
1:48:50 lmaaoo you super gave it to the chantry

NO WAY!!!!!! Shut the front door! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

now, just hear me out: sure you can't spend TWO episodes on character creation, but maybe you can spend THREE episodes on character creation!
oh my god were so fucking back!!!
omg we are so back!!!!
Just finished DATV the other day, can't wait to see y'all's reactions! :D
rolled credits on my own playthrough last night, had a good time with the game. looking forward to seeing how you fare and how y'all find it over the next few years

i have been loving this game i hope ya'll love it too!
Watching 2h of character creation because I definitely don't have an early alarm set for tomorrow x_x ... Hope you feel better after the flu though!
So here for this
WHEN THIS HAPPENED I AM SO HAPPPYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY - happy ! ^_^ i will leave it with you! it's not on your schedule? bummer yuou playt so early in the mornign for greek hours
Wait you left a 20% in the "flatten left side" slider for the scalp and 0% in the right. That's going to make it asymmetrical
ocsor looks so good
i messed up my inq and i'm hoping they add a change feature before i meet her in game
btw, i know you two don't need another massively long rpg to play, but have you considered Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth? It's extremely good. quite possibly my personal GOTY this year.
I'm playing Dragon Age inquisition deluxe edition 🐉
OMGGGG
You always be my favorite person in the whole world 💛 ❤️ 💗 💕 💓 💙
