I had a wave neuvo in the 80's -90's. This has to be something different because there was NO WAY I could go a whole year without getting a retouch. You're hair will definitely break off! So, this is really amazing and different from the curls back in the day! Don't know how she does it! But it looks interesting. Even if it's super expensive - it's only once or twice a year so it averages out!
I've been researching this all day and reading the ignorant comments! (In my country voice) Ain't No Way is it the same formulation as a Jherri Curl! Similar techniques and similar looks but not the same! Even with heavy moisturizing the new growth would cause breakage and shedding
You should need a touch up minimum twice a year but initial treatment AND retouch cost the same $450 -$1000 depending on the length of the hair. Only twa would be 450.
I love my Gina curl I got one in July this is the longest I have worn my hair without it breaking. It is so soft it is thicker and has been growing. It is life changing.!!!

I got the Gina Curl more than a month ago, and my hair still looks fabulous! I get compliments on my hair all the time. Even so, the main reason I got the Gina Curl was manageability. It used to take 5 hours (yes, 5 hours!) for me to do my hair on wash day from start to finish, which includes a pre-poo and detangling, shampoo and conditioning, and styling with twists. As a result, I would wash my hair every 4 - 6 weeks. Even though some may say that this is ok, it was not for me. My hair and scalp have always been healthiest the more frequently I washed; thus, I wasn't surprised - but very concerned - when my hair health started to decline. I saw the TH-cam videos of the Gina Curl and mulled over it and prayed about it for 6 months. When I contacted Gina, she was very responsive and friendly. We did an online consultation and she was very honest in her review of my hair. The day I had my appointment, it started to snow, which I saw as a good sign, even though I was somewhat nervous. Gina was very welcoming and explained all that was being done to my hair. She and her other staff checked on me constantly, making sure I was comfortable and offering me food and water and coffee throughout the day. At the big reveal when the rods came out I could hardly believe my eyes. My hair looked amazing, just as I had hoped it would. My reaction was very subdued, something akin to awe, because I could hardly believe the beauty of those curls and that those curls were on MY head! After care instructions were given to me and explained. I have not had to call back to ask any questions; I followed the instructions to the letter. I feel new growth coming in, but so far, I have had no problems with my hair and no breakage. My wash time has been decreased by 90%. I don't have to detangle prior to washing. I can just step in the shower and start the process (ahhhhh). I wash my hair twice a week. From start to finish, I am done in 30 minutes. No more wash DAY: I have lots of time to do other things that same day now. For every day styling, it only takes 5 minutes for me to do my hair by spritzing with water and a moisturizer and scrunching. Gina, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!
I just saw someone with 4C hair get this done and after watching this video I'm thinking about doing it but can I use a bigger roller? Is that possible? I don't think I want the small rollers you use and I saw it done with bigger rollers some where else

I'm getting this done!!! Stop the Hating and Jealousy! Ma'am I would not sell my techniques or products cheap! You'll no longer be a monopoly and your chemical formulation will be copied! Don't do it! Not worth it! It's extremely obvious that it's like a jherri curl but different because these people are able to wear their hair dry, retain length and bounce. Keep up the good work
Right i am too because it takes me 3 hours just to detangle alone waist length hair. So my whole wash day is literally 8 hours. I have 4 kids and dont have time to be doing this anymore which is why i wear wigs so often. This has got me considering.
Even though I stopped using straightening relaxers. Those so called Natural people need to understand, if you dye your hair with a semi/Demi or permanent hair dye that also is a chemical. If these women have the money they should do as they please. The problem occurs when you don't maintain the GinaCurl, Relaxer, Textarizer etc......
So by 3rd GC, you mean you've done this 3yrs straight? Also, if you straighten your hair at any point, does that mess with the product at all, making it last less longer?
Every 6 months. We recommend blow drying it straight after 2 months. Although, there are some clients that don't listen to recommendations and blew it out straight before that time and did not have a problem. Their curls came right back as curl and define as before!

Hello from the Carolinas! Is this similar to wave nouveau? I would love this treatment for manageability but I do not want to have to have a lot of product in my hair all the time and a big demarcation that can cause breakage. Also if I straighten my hair, will it cause breakage? I couldn't flat iron with a wave nouveau.
No, this is not like any other perm on the market. Gina’s GINACURL is very natural looking when only using a leave-in conditioner. The chemical is not applied to the scalp so it will not cause any bending which causes breakage. We do not recommend a flat iron only because we don’t know who will be using it. When over doing flat iron work it can straighten natural hair so it also can straighten Gina’s GINACURL
You will not need alot of product . Some of our clients use a leave in conditioner and thats it. I’m almost completely sold!! I just want to know that if I get the Gina curl and I use it for 2 years and then decided to stop and just do a regular wash and go, will my regrowth and the rest of my hair that’s been ginacurled look the same or will I have to cut my hair like you would with a regular relaxer
No, they will be two different textures. But , if you do twist outs or braid outs you won't have a problem with them looking to different. And best of all no horrible breakage as you would get growing out a relaxer.

Our application is different. Other chemical curly services apply the chemical on the hair when the hair is in the rob, where we apply before we wind the hair. Doing this helps retain length, so when our clients come back for their retouch, we can separate their GinaCurl hair from their natural hair. This results in never over processing the hair.

This is a video of a retouch. after you get the GinaCurl you see your hair growing , by your 5 th- 6th months your roots are growing in and shrinks up your hair so you can't really recognize how long your hair unless you blow it out.

Hi Leslie, I have permed my hair all my life and now that I'm 61 its very dry and I can't deal with it, I even cut off 8 to 10 inches because of the dryness. My question is this, can you go over a medium perm for 2 or 3c hair with a Gina Curl safely? It's still about 4 inches past my shoulders with about 1 inch of new growth right now/
The Gina Curl is more than just a variation on a Jherri Curl. We never claimed that the Gina Curl is not a chemical. The chemical compound used for the GC is less damaging on hair unlike a Jherri Curl, The GC also does not require excessive styling product like the Jherry Curl, with a Jherri curl a stylist has to move much faster through the hair when applying which most stylists don't possess the skill to safely treat the hair and avoid damage by double processing parts of the hair when doing touch ups. Because a GC processes slower we can isolate old treatment zones so they are not re-processed, plus the GinaCurl Lasts longer AND retains healthy moisturized hair length while giving the curls a matte finish, unlike the very shiny Jherri Curl.

As your natural curl grows out the line of demarcation will become more visible between the new hair and the GinaCurl hair. There are ways around this with different styling techniques to cover it. If you decide not to get touch ups, you don't have to cut the hair off, but you may find it harder to maintain as time goes on.
I have been following your work for quite some time because I definitely want my hair done like this its always such beautiful results, but I am noticing that you are applying the cream chemical portion that straightens the hair to the part of the hair that was already treated. In a previous video you stated that you don't apply that portion to already processed hair, and another thing I noticed is that Leslie's hair isn't as thick as the first or second Gina curl results. Can you explain to me what is going with that, is it because she colored it and maybe its damaging the hair?
I am using a protection cream on the previous treated hair. Leslie's hair looks thinner only because of the difference in the cut and also because her hair is much longer.

These are the example pictures of what we need to complete your consultation or it will delay the process. Answering the question about your chemical history truthfully is also very important. Texlax, Color, Keratin Treatments, Henna, are chemicals so please remember to include these in your consultation. We need to know if it is semi-permanent, permanent, or a stain. We also need to know what level of developer you are using, 6vol, 10vol, or 20vol. Also, if there has been any surgeries or new medication in the past 3 months. Once this is completed, email back and once we receive Gina will review and we will get back to you with a quote, along with some information about the appointment. I want to do this bad...my hair is long and natural but i colored it red with 30 volume and loreal hi color tube ,if I get this process done will my hair fall out?

we do not recommend it. Misuse of a flat iron can cause heat damage on natural hair which can cause the hair to become straight , the same can happen to the GINACURL

Our price starts at $500 It depends on length, previous chemical in your hair and texture of corse. It takes any where between 6-9 hours to do and you will only have togged retouches every 6-8 months for best results
We do not recommend using a flat iron the first two months. You know you can straighten natural texture if you over do it with heat tools. But once in a while is okay. Definitely rollers, blow dry twist , braid outs

I had a wave neuvo in the 80's -90's. This has to be something different because there was NO WAY I could go a whole year without getting a retouch. You're hair will definitely break off! So, this is really amazing and different from the curls back in the day! Don't know how she does it! But it looks interesting. Even if it's super expensive - it's only once or twice a year so it averages out!
I've been researching this all day and reading the ignorant comments! (In my country voice) Ain't No Way is it the same formulation as a Jherri Curl! Similar techniques and similar looks but not the same! Even with heavy moisturizing the new growth would cause breakage and shedding
You should need a touch up minimum twice a year but initial treatment AND retouch cost the same $450 -$1000 depending on the length of the hair. Only twa would be 450.
I love my Gina curl I got one in July this is the longest I have worn my hair without it breaking. It is so soft it is thicker and has been growing. It is life changing.!!!

I LOVE my hair!!! Thanks to Gina, her lovely daughter, and everyone at Hair's Talent, I now have a beautiful hair style with much more manageable hair. I got the Gina Curl more than a month ago, and my hair still looks fabulous! I get compliments on my hair all the time. Even so, the main reason I got the Gina Curl was manageability. It used to take 5 hours (yes, 5 hours!) for me to do my hair on wash day from start to finish, which includes a pre-poo and detangling, shampoo and conditioning, and styling with twists. As a result, I would wash my hair every 4 - 6 weeks. Even though some may say that this is ok, it was not for me. My hair and scalp have always been healthiest the more frequently I washed; thus, I wasn't surprised - but very concerned - when my hair health started to decline. I saw the TH-cam videos of the Gina Curl and mulled over it and prayed about it for 6 months. When I contacted Gina, she was very responsive and friendly. We did an online consultation and she was very honest in her review of my hair. The day I had my appointment, it started to snow, which I saw as a good sign, even though I was somewhat nervous. Gina was very welcoming and explained all that was being done to my hair. She and her other staff checked on me constantly, making sure I was comfortable and offering me food and water and coffee throughout the day. At the big reveal when the rods came out I could hardly believe my eyes. My hair looked amazing, just as I had hoped it would. My reaction was very subdued, something akin to awe, because I could hardly believe the beauty of those curls and that those curls were on MY head! After care instructions were given to me and explained. I have not had to call back to ask any questions; I followed the instructions to the letter. I feel new growth coming in, but so far, I have had no problems with my hair and no breakage. My wash time has been decreased by 90%. I don't have to detangle prior to washing. I can just step in the shower and start the process (ahhhhh). I wash my hair twice a week. From start to finish, I am done in 30 minutes. No more wash DAY: I have lots of time to do other things that same day now. For every day styling, it only takes 5 minutes for me to do my hair by spritzing with water and a moisturizer and scrunching. Gina, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

It will never shrink up, it will be so soft and you can change the curl pattern so no need to worry that you have to maintain the same curl pattern.

Right i am too because it takes me 3 hours just to detangle alone waist length hair. So my whole wash day is literally 8 hours. I have 4 kids and dont have time to be doing this anymore which is why i wear wigs so often. This has got me considering.
Even though I stopped using straightening relaxers. Those so called Natural people need to understand, if you dye your hair with a semi/Demi or permanent hair dye that also is a chemical.
If these women have the money they should do as they please. The problem occurs when you don't maintain the GinaCurl, Relaxer, Textarizer etc......
So by 3rd GC, you mean you've done this 3yrs straight? Also, if you straighten your hair at any point, does that mess with the product at all, making it last less longer?
Every 6 months. We recommend blow drying it straight after 2 months. Although, there are some clients that don't listen to recommendations and blew it out straight before that time and did not have a problem. Their curls came right back as curl and define as before!

Hello from the Carolinas! Is this similar to wave nouveau? I would love this treatment for manageability but I do not want to have to have a lot of product in my hair all the time and a big demarcation that can cause breakage. Also if I straighten my hair, will it cause breakage? I couldn't flat iron with a wave nouveau.
No, this is not like any other perm on the market. Gina’s GINACURL is very natural looking when only using a leave-in conditioner. The chemical is not applied to the scalp so it will not cause any bending which causes breakage. We do not recommend a flat iron only because we don’t know who will be using it. When over doing flat iron work it can straighten natural hair so it also can straighten Gina’s GINACURL

You will not need alot of product . Some of our clients use a leave in conditioner and thats it. I just want to know that if I get the Gina curl and I use it for 2 years and then decided to stop and just do a regular wash and go, will my regrowth and the rest of my hair that’s been ginacurled look the same or will I have to cut my hair like you would with a regular relaxer
No, they will be two different textures. But , if you do twist outs or braid outs you won't have a problem with them looking to different. And best of all no horrible breakage as you would get growing out a relaxer.

Would the hair be more spiral if you neutralized with the rods in? I'd be looking for the extreme spiral curls look.
We do neutralize the hair with the rods still in. The curl is controlled by the rod size.

Our application is different. Other chemical curly services apply the chemical on the hair when the hair is in the rob, where we apply before we wind the hair. Doing this helps retain length, so when our clients come back for their retouch, we can separate their GinaCurl hair from their natural hair. This results in never over processing the hair.

This is a video of a retouch. after you get the GinaCurl you see your hair growing , by your 5 th- 6th months your roots are growing in and shrinks up your hair so you can't really recognize how long your hair unless you blow it out.

Hi Leslie, I have permed my hair all my life and now that I'm 61 its very dry and I can't deal with it, I even cut off 8 to 10 inches because of the dryness. My question is this, can you go over a medium perm for 2 or 3c hair with a Gina Curl safely? It's still about 4 inches past my shoulders with about 1 inch of new growth right now/

So you took one less chemical out of Jheri curl and made it Gina curl, but still used creamy crack cousin. And u saying no chemicals
The Gina Curl is more than just a variation on a Jherri Curl. We never claimed that the Gina Curl is not a chemical. The chemical compound used for the GC is less damaging on hair unlike a Jherri Curl, The GC also does not require excessive styling product like the Jherry Curl, with a Jherri curl a stylist has to move much faster through the hair when applying which most stylists don't possess the skill to safely treat the hair and avoid damage by double processing parts of the hair when doing touch ups. Because a GC processes slower we can isolate old treatment zones so they are not re-processed, plus the GinaCurl Lasts longer AND retains healthy moisturized hair length while giving the curls a matte finish, unlike the very shiny Jherri Curl.

As your natural curl grows out the line of demarcation will become more visible between the new hair and the GinaCurl hair. There are ways around this with different styling techniques to cover it. If you decide not to get touch ups, you don't have to cut the hair off, but you may find it harder to maintain as time goes on.

Yes as long as it is DYE and not BLEACH. The GinaCurl cannot be applied over bleached hair. Dye is fine.

I have been following your work for quite some time because I definitely want my hair done like this its always such beautiful results, but I am noticing that you are applying the cream chemical portion that straightens the hair to the part of the hair that was already treated. In a previous video you stated that you don't apply that portion to already processed hair, and another thing I noticed is that Leslie's hair isn't as thick as the first or second Gina curl results. Can you explain to me what is going with that, is it because she colored it and maybe its damaging the hair?
I am using a protection cream on the previous treated hair. Leslie's hair looks thinner only because of the difference in the cut and also because her hair is much longer.

What are the ingredients in the gina curl product? Im interested in this process but i'm concerned about lye/formaldehyde and other chemicals that are harmful and disrupt hormonal balance
There is no Formaldehyde in the chemical that we use, It is a thio base perm. The same chemical that we use in a traditional curly perm
I have about 6 months of natural hair and the ends are relaxed straight...can I get the gina curl or do I have to wait till I grow out the relaxer?
Yes, you have to wait or do the big chop to begin your healthy hair care journey.

Is this just not relaxing the hair and using a curly perm on it?
no we are not using a sodium hydroxide relaxer and we are only using one chemical one time

Once you get the GinaCurl we do not recommend any direct heat! Only, styles that include roller sets, twist outs- any protective styles.

If I straighten the Ginacurl will it lose the curl pattern? Or will it go back to the Ginacurl?
You can wrap your hair , roller set and blow out but I do not recommend the flat iron.

Consultation
Begin your consultation process by visiting our website www.HairsTalent.com and go to the Consultation Section and use the Online Consultation Form as a reference. These are the example pictures of what we need to complete your consultation or it will delay the process. Answering the question about your chemical history truthfully is also very important. Texlax, Color, Keratin Treatments, Henna, are chemicals so please remember to include these in your consultation. We need to know if it is semi-permanent, permanent, or a stain. We also need to know what level of developer you are using, 6vol, 10vol, or 20vol. Also, if there has been any surgeries or new medication in the past 3 months.
Once this is completed, email back and once we receive Gina will review and we will get back to you with a quote, along with some information about the appointment. Once you receive your quote and all looks good you can then give me a call here at the Salon and we can get you booked and take your Deposit. If you have any further questions please feel free to include them with your submitted consultation. We will respond with a quote within 1 business week. The Gina Curl and Thermal Reconditioning are ONLY done on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

No, I'm sorry you can't but we can ween you out of the JS with a Straight Variation and then move onto the GINACURL
Can you flat iron a gina curl
we do not recommend it. Misuse of a flat iron can cause heat damage on natural hair which can cause the hair to become straight , the same can happen to the GINACURL

anybody know how much something like this cost
Our price starts at $500 It depends on length, previous chemical in your hair and texture of corse. It takes any where between 6-9 hours to do and you will only have togged retouches every 6-8 months for best results
Can you straighten your hair if it’s curled with the Gina curl and the curl pattern will return ?
We do not recommend using a flat iron the first two months. You know you can straighten natural texture if you over do it with heat tools. But once in a while is okay.
Definitely rollers, blow dry twist , braid outs
