Thanks for teaching me that the phone anamorphics have proprietary threads. Moondog coming in with a universal standard. I’m getting a moondog. Because they get me. Thanks David.
Thank you so much for the comment! These little adapters are really cool and have a lot of potential on smaller sensors, it's a shame most of them are stuck to a phone! I did manage to modify a 12.5mm version of the moondog labs lebs and with a 3d printed adapter I was able to mount it to the same m43 lenses. The performance is similar to the 37mm and the standard thread is more convenient and versitle, so I think it's the right choice for most situations! Glad I could help and if you have any questions please feel free to ask!
Will 1.55x lenses work? I have the Ulanzi 1.55xt and it seems perfect to me, it would be a great option for a more pronounced bokeh and recording in open gate
I'm glad you liked it! I had been meaning to put out a video about this lens for a while! Unfortunately I don't own the 42.5mm but with the native 37mm thread I wanted to pick one up! On the Panasonic 14-42 I had no issues at the end of the zoom range so I would assume the 42.5mm would work just fine and give you a shallower depth of field to work with. With some modifications I was actually able to go as wide as 12mm on MFT and possibly wider but that is for a follow up video haha also the first lens I tried this out with was the 17mm Olympus f/2.8 and it also worked very nicely. That lens doesn't play as well with the gh5 for autofocus but manual focus worked well and the focal length is very versatile.
Hello, Thanks for posting this great clip. I tested my G9 with my5 14mm/f2.5 combined with Moodndog Labs 37mm anamorphic lens and see some bad vignetting on both sides, even with e-stabilizer enabled. Can you please let me know what special sittings you used with GH5? Many thanks.
Hello and thank you for the comment. I just tested this setup again. I had the GH5 in regular 16x9 video mode with the anamorphic desqueeze the 14mm f/2.5 with a 46 to 37mm step down ring and the moondog labs anamorphic adapter. There is light vingietting but the image is still very usable. I also had the stabilizer on. Im not sure what would cause such a difference as the video modes should be similar. Can you give me more information on your setup?
Wow! This is pretty impressive. I love the vintage look. I need to try this with my own Moondog adapter!
Thank you very much for the comment!! I think youll really find the results to be pleasing for the cost and size! Let me know how it goes!
@@TheWholePicture will do! Thank you for the inspiration!!!
