Just getting a tegu. Very excited to get every bit of info. I always watch these types of videos as much as possible TY. Your content is really great..
Lol..You have to sterilize the pot soil. If you don't there is eggs from certain bugs that will hatch and can harm your lizard. There has been reports of centepedes that hatched and harmed the lizard. It can also be other bugs that will hatch and can be bad for the lizard if eaten. I also sifted through it because you want to get all the sticks and mulch out of it. And when I wad sifting through it I found glass in there which could have been super bad for your animal. I mean if you buy your soil from like the bio dude or someone like that who makes the substrate especially for your type of lizard you do not have to sterilize it. But if you just get regular potting soil like I did it's a really good idea to sterilize and Sift through it.
Thanks for the comment I seen the reason right after I posted I’m getting a baby tegu and I just did his substrate this would have been good to know but I’m sure I made you giggle 🤭 so I’m that case enjoy your day
@@JonDoe-nh2zm yes you did lol. I loved the tarnation" hehe. But yes you do not have to do it. I am so excited for you to get your tegu!! Congrats! I hope to be able to see a pic! You can add me on Instagram if you have one! Oh BTW, did you comment on my other video? I thought it was you but when I click on the comment it is not there so I didn't know if you maybe deleted the comment or something? I just didn't want you to think I just wasn't answering you 😊
They never told me at the store how old he was but i would say now at least 2 months old. When they are first born their heads are bright green and then they fades within a month. So he has to be at least a month when I got him.
So cute 🥰
Thank you lol. I really thought he was completely gone. Lol I wad so scared 😂

How old is this black and white tegus baby now?

@@metalmomma4229 Superb.. 😍😍
My kids want a tegu but we are out here in California, I don’t know if it’s to dry to raise one out here.
Are you planning on raising him outside or inside? You can always mist your tegu and their enclosure twice a day to keep it a little moist.
