When this video was made I was a 16 yo amateur boxer. I was heavily influenced by Hector Camacho. He gave me so much inspiration and he showed me that it was ok to just be yourself and to be fearless doing it. I've carried that attitude with me my entire life thanks to Hector Camacho. I feel like I lost a big brother when Hector died. I got to meet Camacho once at a fight in Florida in 1989 when his brother Felix was fighting. He was a super nice person. RIP Champ, I'll always love you.
Some of my best memories is my dad getting these pay-per-views with macho Man and his flamboyant outfits in the mid to late 80s just watching this video here brings back so many great memories of the New York City area during that time macho Man was definitely the people's champ! RIP..
Till this day i still cant believe MACHO CAMACHO is gone he was my hero he grew up in new yorks spanish harlem and made it as a famous professional boxer and very flamboyant and always kept it real in the 80s he represented puerto rican americans right anyways i will never forget what he always said What time is it? its MACHO TIME! REST IN PEACE CHAMPION!
a fucking sublime fighter with a sublime personality, an absolutely ruthless finisher ruthlessly finishing himself from the inside out,,,,,a floored genius,,,,,rest in peace champ.
I was just reminiscing on this cat, dang! This dude was something else, he went through so much. Sad ending to such a legend man, el mundo te extraña, Macho Time!!! “Seguuuudo”
Macho driving that Cadillac reminded me of the scene in "Carlito's Way," when Carlito is accompanying his cousin to drop off money and drugs. Sadly, the cousin gets his throat cut and dies. Kind of what ended up happening to Carlito and Macho Camacho, but they both ended up dying with a gun! 😢 Thanks for uploading! Macho was only 21 here! Man ⏰ flies!!!
Ch W It was around 81 or 82 somewhere around there. I was a teenager and he was in the early stages of his pro boxing career. He actually was in my town (DC) in a rough part of the neighborhood (my neighborhood). He was by himself and he had a Camaro. I think the car was maroon or burgundy and it had a pair of white boxing gloves painted on the side of them and the words "Macho Time" emblazoned in white on the side. I was shocked because I could not believe that this guy would be in my rough neighborhood and he was a long ways from NYC. But after I thought about it, there was another pro fighter who was from my neighborhood who use to come to my street and buy drugs so I figured Macho must have known this guy and that was the reason why he was there. Can't be for certain but that's what I figured. Anyway, I said what'sup Camacho and he said what'sup with a big ol' Kool - Aid smile. He was really a nice, nice guy.
R.i.p CAMACHO. He was a charismatic fighter alonside muhammad ali and Sugar ray leonard. Damn 3 boxers died in a row from late 2012 into mid 2013. I guess it comes in 3's. First camacho then tommy morrison and last but not least Ken norton. Wow 3 great fighters gone too soon :(
While in the Army assigned as a Army Recruiter in Orlando I happened to be running a background check in the old city hall, I happened to run in to Macho. He came over and greeted me. I guess because of my uniform. We had some small talk and he went on his way. I guess he was there for one of his run in's with the law. I was surprised how small he was in stature, but always seemed larger than life. RIP my brother....
No matter if you were a fan or not, you can not Camacho was a Great Fighter, he did stay way longer than he should've but a Great fighter for his time, a precursor for Mayweather and the rest. What he as criticized the most, defensive, holding, and getting on a bike, its what fighters do now. RIP Champ!

@@Ijustinsultedyou Why? It's all a matter of opinion. In my opinion he had the second fastest hands of all time behind Meldrick Taylor. He's definitely in the top 5.

Camacho was a bit too freaky for me (he and I were born months apart, go figure)...but he could use his hands and was a bad dude any way you slice it. I wasn't a fan but always respected him...he was good for boxing.
Aposteln Trynt That’s the same thing I said immediately after you were born. The look of disappointment on my face if you could’ve only seen it. Well actually you did
like the vreat mexican fighter and the great nicaraguan fighter and the great panamainian fighter puerto rico will always have a great fighter and i say this cause i love great hispanic boxers.
Looked (and fought) =so=much like "Schoolboy" Bobby Chacon, the LA-based featherweight & super-featherweight champ from the '70s & '80s I thought at first that he =was= BC. He and Hector both fought Rafael "Bazooka" Limon in televised main events, btw. Another opponent they shared was Ray "Boom Boom" Mancini.
i share the same last name as him..and alot of people would ask me if i was related to him..i would smile..sometimes i would say yeah just to get a reaction from people lol
Curious if his killers were ever aprehended? What a shame, lost in the world of drugs, sadly it was his demised. Shot by his own people on the Island of Puerto Rico, the hometown. Sad for Puerto Ricans, Puerto Rico and a shame for the island and Puerto Ricans alike. But his name and legacy shall last a lifetime on the boxing history books. RIP Champ!
