  • Today I share a different proposal, still experimental, but more intimate and based on textures, tones, lights and minimalism.
    The simplicity in composition, the generation and interaction of the elements. The purity, the distortion, the light, the shadow.
    Three main elements on screen and the keyboard from which I launch string textures.
    Op-1 field has turned out to be a much more interesting piece of equipment than I thought at the beginning and it has become essential given its portability and the great sound it has. Being able to capture any idea anywhere and with a more than surprising quality makes it very special. In fact I made part of the melody while traveling on the train and left it recorded on its tape simulator. On screen you can then appreciate the use of one of his alternative sequencers based on dynamics, movement and collisions that is responsible for the piano notes.
    ==Thoughts on experimentation
    I was recently talking to a friend about the price of innovating and experimenting... You don't always get what you're looking for, it's not always easy, and of course many times others won't like it either... But the world has never been able to evolve without breaking the rules or questioning things. And it's hard for me to find things as satisfying as the feeling of self-improvement and not giving up when you challenge yourself at the limits of your comfort zone.
    We agreed that the key is not to do what everyone else likes, but to try again when something didn't work out the way you expected.
    Please, consider subscribing and leave a thumbs up if you like my humble creations. It will help me get out to more people who may also like them.

    what a pleasure..................I so rarely am able to keep things this minimal (yesterday, I ended up just deleting my whole audio/video project - it was too busy)....this is stunning...........it's a good lesson for me . . . . . . . less is more...................even though you have a lot going on her in parts, there are great dynamics and it continues to evolve and morph........................in places it's epic, yet it still feels very personal................................nicely done

      I'm so glad you liked it, Will. SO happy! 🖤
      I have been thinking a lot about our talk the other day and I have tried to learn from each step or re-learn what was necessary but not to stop trying to offer something new, but above all that I could offer a valid way to take the emotions or the music in different ways.
      BTW: Today I release another journey of very basic, minimalist melodies towards the simplicity and complexity of the cosmos.

      I'll keep an ear out................I almost missed this one - I think I clicked on your name in my 'Sub' list, and then just saw 'upcoming' or something, then forgot.......................I really appreciate what you're doing. When I hear your videos, it becomes clear to me why I enjoy them, and I can use that to try and break free of my habits - get back to being more spontaneous.......

      @@willswitchcrafttoday is a really hot day here in the south of Spain and I was watching old videos with my iPad trying to find some fresh air while I was outside waiting for some wind… then I found this video and your kind words and the way you described things. You always helped me a lot to keep me motivated and also helped me find things that were not so good. You were one of the reasons that helped me to be motivated to come back again ….i just wanted to say this to you . Have a good day Will

      What an awesome message. You really made my day. Hot here too, and there are wildfires burning in all directions (none close enough to cause us to evacuate....hoping that we're spared that drama)...............always a pleasure to hear from you, and hear you creations......

      Yes! I use the op-1 reel recorder with 4 layers and over it I use the sample engine with and the hexagon sequencer …
      Everything is played live as it was. The only thing that wasn't in that instant is the strings I play (although I actually played them without sequencing anything as I listened to myself and it was recorded that way).
