- I'm feeling very tired today so wanted to do a classic Sims 4 house build reno! Sorry I'm a little low energy in this video, hope you enjoy it anyway!

I don’t think I did the best job of decorating this to suit the current Goth family, but I like the floor plan change and exterior change. I kinda want to furnish it again Ngl and do a better job. Forgive me on this one guys 🤣

It's the early expansion packs that need more swatches now...
"you don't have to have black everything to give it a goth feel" and that's why pastel goths are a thing. Also an all black exterior for a house isn't too far fetched. I've seen one in person and it's amazing.

Why do I enjoy it so much when she let's the sims walk around when showing us around.. not many simmers seem to do it but it's so satisfying 😂

It's a good build, but it looks like the Goths moved out and the new family couldn't stand the vibes haha
I’m glad you gave Alexander a super cool room. I always felt bad that they basically tucked him away in a small attic space as if they didn’t really care for him.
Even tho I like the house, I do not like it as the Goth's house ... does that make sense? Like it's pretty for sure, but it hasn't got the Goth vibes I would want for this iconic Sims family
I agree. I love most of Deli's builds but this one just sort of missed the mark imo
I felt the same, i think its a lovely build but its just NOT the goths, as a goth myself I definitely prefered the decor of the original build (maybe not the floorplan though) and was almost a little offended about how ungoth the renovation was 🤣 like it but god no would I live in it
Pls do the Spencer-Kim Lewis house next! They have such a massive house and it's weirdly furnished in some spots, I think you'd do a great job 👍

if this was a real Victorian house people would hate the change so much, literally taking all its character and removing the feature windows out the back to make it square lol.

Deli herself said she didn't do a great job with this one, and it definitely lost it's charm in this renovation.
I prefer the Goth house in darker tones. It is the Goths house after all.

As nice as this build turned out, it does not look like the goths own this house at all. And as a reminder for people Gothic architecture has alot of white in it so the outside is actually really nice for a Gothic style.

Im not a big fan of this makeover. Honestly it doesn’t look very goth to me at all.. it kinda just looks like a modern home with all the white and bright colors. Black is more goth with maybe some hints of red or purple. This is just no.. its too colorful for a goth home. I do love your videos tho i just think this could have been done better.🥰

I personally think that medium height walls are best. you get that feeling of more space without there being too much space. I'd only use tall walls for special venues.

I literally just redid the Goths in my save! I bulldozed the house and built a Queen Anne style home with a full wrap around porch. I kept the all black theme and used a bit of Harrie and Felix CC. I also gave the fam a refresh and aged up Bella, Cass, and Alex with new CC outfits and GrimCookies hairs for all!

This is actually SUCH a good take on what the Goth’s house could look like. Modern Goth is the definition of this house and so out of the box! Yasss Deli!

Being a Goth myself, I have to say I cringed at the new and improved version. Don't get me wrong, it was good, but I would have personally used gray over white. Each to there own preferences.
I am with ya on that one. Deli has good taste and she made the house look beautiful, but that is not a goth house at all. It has none of the dark and foreboding vibe one sees in a goth's home. It's still a lovely reno, but might have been better suited to the Landgraab family.
yeah, i feel like she definitely could have brightened it up without going so far. red, purple, grey, even some browns and blues, would have accomplished the thing she initially said - making the architectural features more visible. instead she kinda ditched the goth aesthetic entirely and just went modern.
she says it's traditional style still, but i feel like that (and her roofing and statement that 3 storey houses need more care to make them look good) is maybe a product of being australian? idk much abt architechtural history of australia, but maybe their "old" housing is generally less Old and more like... pre-ww2. bc the house went from 1800s to 1920s, and while both aesthetics are nice, the whole point of the goths is that they're *"old* money", not "new money" - which i would guess the line between those is sometime between 1850-1870, at the very latest. so the house _should_ look a bit dusty, at least outside... slightly faded siding and all that ....just due to it being over 150 years old. and probably _shouldn't_ be quite so flashy abt the fact they're loaded, bc culturally that's more of a "new money" thing, it's considered tacky for "old money" families.
that was a bit of a ramble, but my main point is: yeah agreed. she missed the mark on this one, in terms of maintaining the aesthetic and the vibes.
Not everyone such as myself and probably Deli, enjoy playing in gothic homes or vibes.
@@hannah8911 plenty of those in the Sims, so why would you choose to play in the Goth house if that is the case? It is, obviously, defined by a gothic vibe.
@@jensencaldwell5101 yeh theres a few victorian era houses around but you would have to go out of your way to find them from when european settlers first started to build here but mostly what you see is your suburban homes and modern looking homes
although i think its also more that deli just has a preferences for modern houses and thats what she spends here time looking at, i like older style homes that are more ornate and fits my goth esthetic more so thats what i tend to look at
You should do a Goth's reno with an opposite aesthetic, for example, one I guess it would be pastel/kawaii... or another example could be a modern, minimalist and bright one?
This was a lot of fun! definitely like that the Goth's would have like a hollywood glam type of vibe just because they are truly SO extra
I turned the Spencer Kim Lewis one into a community lot. It's an arts center. It has a dancefloor, a bar, a photo studio and media room, an internet cafe, a kids room, a dining room where you can hire a caterer and woodworking and crafts. I love turning base game houses into community lots. I also like to have my Sims leaving paintings and portraits on the wall when they visit. I love the whole house is literally based on Bella's penchant for red.
I love the build but I don't think it's a good replacement for the goth family home, as a goth myself i think this is way more modern and bright to be considered goth in my opinion, though the few bits of gothic architecture were on point !
Now we gonna need a Goth family makeover

I love that you switched the dining room with the kitchen. It didn't make sense for the kitchen to be so huge and airy while the dining room was shoved in the back of the house.
I actually kind of love this, I think it's such a fresh take and it's a good thing you didn't let yourself be limited to what the Goths might prefer. They're so OG Sims, I think it's about time for something new for them anyway ;)

This looks like a lovely modern overhaul of a house built in 19th century. I love the kooky Victorian Gothic Literature vibe that the original build has and, when I renovated it a long time ago, I tried to make it look like it came straight out of Edgar Allan Poe's mind. I would've loved to have seen you get right out of your comfort zone trying to make a fully gothic Victorian era house. Maybe an idea for the future!

I really liked it! I know it’s not traditional goth but definitely reminds me of the original “Twin Peaks” TV show. If you haven’t seen it, it gets daaark. Back in early 90s, nobody has seen that kind of TV show.

Deli somehow knew my rags to riches sim who was striving to become famous homewrecked the Goth household and was itching to redecorate.
I feel like the exterior is a little too light, but you did really interesting contrasts with the wallpaper inside. I really like the interior and bless you for giving Alexander less of a 'we shoved the second child in the attic' feel.

Really nice build, but would probably pick a grey over white, I think the white is too harsh and not gothic enough. I see what you did using modern and victorian decor, but I think it doesn't really make it look gothic, it looks more like a glamourous house instead. :) I'd love to see this as a series though!! Love how creative you are and pushing the boundaries!
