I never thought back in the 70's as a kid that in 2024 I would be watching a guy named Sarasota Tim on a smart phone in my hand 🤣 how the times have changed and passing us by 😎
I got married in 1987 got divorced in 2004 after 4 yrs of seperated in 2000. My ex passed in 2008 from what ill never know. I was lucky to have met a very good woman in 2011 through a mutual friend for the last 12 yrs.
Hey Tim. Thanks for the Old Timey Days video! We are so much alike its amazing! Same era I guess. Same memories. Best times in my life were Junior and Senior grades in high school. I had my Kawasaki junior year and my Chevy Nova senior year. Lots of girls, lots of guy friends. Great times. And by the way, you and I are looking for the same woman!!! HaHaHa. Thanks for this one! --Kevin in Maine
We’ll have to hook up one day and have a coffee. Merry Christmas Kevin hope you find that sweet little thing and if you do ask her if she’s got a sister. 😂🎄😎
I was only 11 or so when Fast Times came out. That movie makes me feel somewhat young, as I'm young enough that there was a time where I was probably not supposed to see that movie or wouldn't be allowed to see it for obvious parts lol. My best friend was 2 years older than me and somehow he got a hold of that and we watched it when I was probably 12! I've seen it a few times since then and it still cracks me up!
This generation will never know how good we had it. Just think we used to talk to one another and kids today talk thru a smartphone. No wonder why they’re so unhappy.
About myself i never smoked or drank nothing heavy all my life just some wine coolers and wine yrs ago, had a strawberry Diaquia once. Never in my life drank a beer cant stand the taste. As far as smoking cigarettes they kill people fast never did it.
I'm currently in San Diego for a couple more days before coming home to Florida for Christmas! Funny that I'm listening to this as I'm walking around downtown by the port. I do like San Diego, it's the only place I'd live in California I think. As the resident surfer here, I do love the San Diego beaches. I couldn't care less for LA/Orange County. I would rather be in Florida, as I think on average it's a little cooler in San Diego/So Cal than it is on the Treasure Coast of Florida. It's much more comfortable in the summer, though!
I used to be a NASCAR fan as a kid in the late 70s/80s and probably still a bit in the 90s. The way the cars looked in the 70s is what made me love high performance cars and want him once I started driving. I've had Mustangs ever since. I don't have any interest in watching NASCAR on TV anymore, but I would totally go to a race today. I've been to Pocono and Dover. Would have loved to go to Bristol or one of the short tracks live! My dad even my maternal grandfather liked NASCAR, even though we were from the north. My buddy's uncle was on Geoff Bodine's pit crew for years! He was Dale Sr's big rival at one point in the 80s. Obviously Dale was much better, but Geoff Bodine was a good driver for a bit. Yeah, going to see the races live is really fun!
You must know Bob Germain from the Naples Car biz. He very kindly put my brother's name on the #13 Geico Car driven by Casey Mears in 2015 then Ty Dillon later. I did fundraising for their Graciefoundation for couple years following. Great People. I love Nascar to this day and will forever. See ya at the 500 in Feb. Still a great Sport. Crush that Chequered Flag Baby 🇺🇸🏁.
You mentioned Monte Carlo's of the 70s. I actually had three Monte Carlo's 72 ,74 and a 75. 75 actually had a 454 engine which was very rare at the time. Happy Hollidays Tim.
And I’m sure you remember the Monte Carlo with the bucket seats and console and the bucket seat could actually twist towards the driver door to step out was kind of unique. How about that Chevy Vega Cosworth with a 350 V8 ha ha😎
@SarasotaTim the swivel bucket seats in the Monte Carlo started in 2003 models and continued until 2006 they were only available in the cars with the Landau Edition which was the half of vinyl roof you had to have that Trim in order to get the swivel seats
Those days were the best! Nothing better than being a teen in the late 70s in Southern California. My kids love it when we go back to visit and I show them some of my favorite spots! Those were some good times HB California!
Glad you are feeling better. I was just reminiscing about the old days (late 70's & early 80's ) with an old friend about how magical a time it was to grow up in. It's a shame the kids of today will never be able to have the same experiences. Have a Merry Christmas & Happy Birthday.
Enjoy this video! The vinyls, (as they call them today) are coming back! Love Foreigner and REO Speedwagon! I also listen to Partridge Family and Donna & Maria. I could listen a wide range of music!
Well, I sold cars on the mile of cars in Chula Vista national city had good friends living in Chula Vista. Spent many days in Mission Bay PB OB La Jolla etc thanks for checking in.😎
I went to San Diego state Fall 1977 to Dec 1981, great times. And I do remember the grunion runs. I’ve lived in Southern California my whole life, love it.

Grunion spawning events are also called grunion runs and they occur from February through September, with the heaviest runs usually in April, May, and June. On the night of the full and new moons, female grunions follow waves in towards the beach and swim as far up onto the sand as they can.
I have not heard you mention Jolene & Hubby in awhile! How are they doing?
Teddy... yeah it's been awhile
Glad to hear you are feeling better. Merry Christmas!

@SarasotaTim thank you for the compliment, I like to be friendly and have humorous comments that don't offend anyone and not that I ever would 🙂🎄

You can’t beat 1970s classic rock. Vinyl is making a comeback and you just can’t beat the sound with a good turntable.

I absolutely hate going into a store or gas station, restaurant, whatever and have to use the self checkout.
UGH that makes me mad! 🤣

All true. Living in Oceanside and all other areas of San Diego for years I concur.
👍 🎄😎
I still have thousands of record albums in my basement mostly country and Bluegrass. Some 78s and 45s
