I think she is just incredibly great, and not many filipino can properly enunciate in english. the way we learned things in the ph is quite different in the U.S it still takes a lot of self taught. I think the way she learned it really well is by singing, definitely not by school in the ph. No doubt, she work very hard to be one of the best.

Well, here in the Philippines, when it comes to a normal conversation, we often used Filipino/Tagalog/Taglish but when it comes to Business, Enforcing Laws, and Medium of Instruction in schools, English is a must to use. Even our constitution is all written in English. From Kindergarten up to college, English and Filipino were taught simultaneously. But yeah, not all Filipinos can enunciate English so well. Maybe some can but it is only valid for those who work as Call Center Agent in a BPO company.
When you hear her in interviews speaking English she has a typical Filipino accent....but yeah you can't tell in her songs...I assume it's something she's worked hard on and studied carefully when it comes to singing these covers. Amazing.

Charlie, Mori speaks 2 of the native languages plus English. Her home area is Cebu where they speak Basaya. They teach school in English and Tagalog. There are probably 30 to 40 singers that come to mind from the Philippines that are world class and that is only scratching the surface. Morissette was born and raised in the Philippines. Fyi, English is our second language in the Philippines. Philippines rank 27th worldwide among 100 English speaking countries in terms of English proficiency. I am a big fan of Mori's as well and thank you for supporting her.
For me this is the best cover I've ever heard... Sitting down, hitting high notes... She's not human at all.. She can give justice to any songs she covers even if it is ballad, pop, rock, Broadway etc.. She can whistle too👌 PHOENIX indeed.
Morissette is pure Filipino, she grew up in Cebu. Tagalog/Filipino is our Language but the official language used in most schools is English, so majority of Filipinos speak English.
Her mother Tounge is a Filipino dialect called Cebuano, she was raised Cebu City Philippines .. primary school here has an english subject to tertiary. So that's why we Filipinos knows to speak English.
Morissette has superb techniques when she sings but she doesn't compromise the emotion needed for the song. Singing for her is just breathing that comes naturally.

Really enjoy seeing your passion and how much her performances just hit you like a brick (this is from someone who only recently discovered Morissette and had an unexpected evening on Monday when I saw the Rise Up video for the first time and couldn’t stop gulpy ugly sobbing pretty much from the 2nd bar until I’d played it a good 20 times back to back 😬🤣. Literally felt like the Wish bus had hit me at 90mph and then backed over me for good measure.)
