Great video!! I've got one in my cart. 2 questions... I'm sure they've been asked but wanted to make sure.... 1) 1 ohm 1 watt resistor... 2) what kind of antenna should I be getting for this... it's both Ham and CB??
Forgive me for asking, but does it matter which end faces the front of the radio? The gold band or brown band, as in if the resistor has a directional current flow.
@@JohnSmith-uy7svyeah but I don’t think it includes the wattage specs for the CB band since the radio doesn’t come from the factory like he just modified it.
@@JohnSmith-uy7sv what??….lol. What do you mean, would it change my mind about buying one? The guy just simply asked what the wattage was on the CB band because it’s not listed under the specifications which is probably due to the fact that the radio didn’t come with this from the factory so why would they list a specification for something that’s not supposed to be there?
Do you have the CB modifications for the Yaesu FT-891? I saw on a few of these channels where people were using this radio on the CB radio frequencies.
@@JohnSmith-uy7sv I did google it and the directions didn't seem as direct and definitive is those for the other radio makes models. It's possible I'm just looking in all the wrong areas:)
Did you have problems during the soldering of the resistor? I'm just starting to mod it today. What resistor ohm and watt did you use? Best practice to say??
Because technically it's a 10 m radio. Not an 11 m approved CB radio. It puts out more than the legal limit of wattage for a CB radio. Works like a champ on CB frequencies once converted!
It's a deliberately designed method to make YOU responsible for the power output being above 4 watts, not the maker. The modification is made to be as easy as possible. Shameless!
Hola , se me quemaron los transistores finales FQP13N10, sabes de otro modelo de transistor que sea 100% compatible ,gracias 73 desde chile, obvio sin la idea de modificar nada .

Seems to me that this mod ruins a perfectly good 10-meter all mode radio that could be used to talk to people around the world on ham radio frequencies.
Got the Lincoln from Amazon done your Mod works great THANKS (Ginger Beard Folkestone UK )
Good job young man. Waving from my tech bench. 73👋🏻
thank you I did successfully complete the mod. I used 1/4W. 1kOhm resistor.
Just a question, After that modification, does the CB goes from 26 MHz to 29 MHz in free freq running on step of 10 kHz? Thank you.
Cool! Not bad!! A little flux would help during the solder process 👍🏼
Excellent tutorial! Been looking at getting a Lincoln II +. Subscribed
Does 11M also operate all mode including FM after the conversion?
Great video it's easy as 1,2,3... THANKS FOR THE HELP!!!
great video. where do you find the resistor to add to the cb ?
Amazon
anywhere. Just google 1/4W. 1kOhm resistor
So this does work on the north american model.

for CB get a 5/8 wavelength vertical antenna
1K not 1 ohm
CB band normálně funguje z výroby. Stačí v menu zadat kód 12345 a naskočí CB band !
Excellent video works perfectly one question what would be your recommendation for a mobile antenna
I have a fire stick 2 on mine didn’t even need to tune it 1.0 on am a band every single channel pickup side and all over the place too
If I do the conversion will I lose the 10 11 12 meter bands many thanks
what stupid mod would that be if you lost other channels? Of course not. That is why everyone wants these types of radios.
What antenna would you use for mobile
Forgive me for asking, but does it matter which end faces the front of the radio? The gold band or brown band, as in if the resistor has a directional current flow.
Resistors have no polarity. Current passes equally through from either direction. That means you can't install them backward.
Does it need alignment after doing this?
Does it also get USB, LUB and FM?
I'm not buying into this unless we find out it does.
google the radio. It' gets everything. duh.
This looks like something i could accomplish. Thanks for the great video. Question: What is the power output on the CB portion?
35 watts

I got my resistor in but my radio didn't have that CBPWD menu option. Hmm.....
